  1. By way of an update on the caliper being stuck, having ridden close to 100 miles since I changed the pads and still not being able to remove one of the Torx screws I dropped the bike in at Stonehenge Cycles yesterday, mainly because I’m not going to be riding it for a week and my brother in law has been too busy (new girlfriend) hopefully they can resolve along with the chain hopping off past top gear.

  2. Just back from a tough 100 mile lumpy loop in the Yorkshire IMG_20230902_110632.jpg IMG_20230902_114453.jpg IMG_20230902_110623.jpg IMG_20230902_114506.jpg dales. 7.5k foot of climbing. Feels good but I'm spanked now.....

Neck bad but went out anyway for about 20 miles partly assisted.

i'm sure you are aware/taking like a pro Gary, but be careful of the dosage or can find you've damaged yourself the day after.

  11. Final update, bike collected this afternoon. They removed the loose bolt, rotated the base plate enough to enable the screw’s from underneath that held the caliper, then filed two flats on the head. That was just enough to get a firm grip on the head with a pair of mole grips. Job done, well done Nick.

  13. Following the debacle with my caliper bolts (see above), I plan to replace the same on both bikes.

I think I need M5 x 15 screws with cylinder head hex (Allen). Definitely not Stainless, grade 8.8 or higher BZP. I’m not sure what the tensile strength of Ti is, but if it’s equivalent to gr 8.8 in steel that would work.

I’ve done a bit of internet searching, but drawn a blank so far except for buying 200 !

Can anyone offer suggestions or advice?

    TIA

  14. Here maybe or ring your LBS and see if they can help to source them? Soz about the anodising tat or apologies if you’re a huge anodising fan and I’ve in some way offended your sensibilities on bike related tat.

  18. 57 miles on the Road bike today, no punctures, largely avoided the rain. Popped into the Pronto cafe in Frome, which some of the GCN team use. They have indoor Cycle parking, great coffee and cake, well worth calling in if your close enough.
