  5. I believe I read somewhere might have been on his website? that @nelly worked for Raleigh before he switched over to motorcycles.

    I had a Raleigh banana which my father gave away, still galls me after 30 years, really liked that bike down tube friction shifters Reynolds 531 tubing bought for £50.

  9. on second attempt managed to get my car battery swapped under guarantee 2 days ago - that's the last one from them for me.
     
  10. Their Autocentres are worse than Kwik Fit, which is quite the achievement.

  11. I have their Professional tools and the 2 items I broke were replaced immediately with no drama.

  12. they are fine, the guarantees are clear-cut, but i always thought what good value the batteries were, and whether they could keep the service up for much longer - I just got my answer. A big Halfords fan generally and got to know a lot of "behind the scenes" stuff from a mate who worked there for some time.

  15. 67 very cold miles today. Stunning views over austwick, clapham, bentham and mewith. Alas, I didn't take any pics. Phone was buried in layer 3 pocket and i didn't do much stopping, you cannot dawdle on long rides at this time of year, you soon run out of light.

  19. Cleaned my rear cassette in an ultrasonic bath fitted now to a wheelset ready for short 20 miles tomorrow.
