Toro got overtaken by 6 cyclists uphill again....yawn. He can't even read the title, particularly the lovers not haters bit. Probs needs moving to the random picture thread.
An interesting find on my ride today. Ramp for bike to jump and land (crash!) into a quarry. Rumour is a Tom Cruise connection; Mission Impossible?
Some of us from work cycled to a local pub and back tonight after work . It was a 10 mile round trip, I go out quite a bit cycling but I couldn't get over how unfit a couple of our lads were in their 20's . Sweat pouring off them and we were only bimbling along . I'm 46, and I don't class myself as fit at all, but I guess I'm not to bad after all .
Didnt know that the cyclistists on here went to work. Thought they spent the days riding down dogging lanes..
Dude at work had a bad fall recently, front wheel lodged in a track in the road, over the bars, not going fast, but very lucky. Bad scars on his face, concussion. Cycle Helmet saved his life. Wear a helmet people
not a helmet wearer, never will be unless legislation dictates. Well aware i'm "opening a can of worms" but the average bicycle helmet helps very little when it comes to impact-type accidents, would sooner wear a motorcycle helmet if i had to.
It’s your choice at the end of the day, some days I won’t wear a helmet. However when mountain biking I always do due to the damage sustained to a helmet when I had an off a few years ago. They’ll never impose it as it’d be nigh impossible to enforce so you’ll be ok.
Always wear one but was very surprised to read on here that having a peak on the road was a no-no...why?
Good grief, you just don’t bud peaks are for mountain biking, a little like wearing a Mx helmet on a sports bike. There isn’t a rule but there is a rule
I'm all for choice to be fair, I'm getting old now so I like to tell everyone what to do. I tell lads not to ride mx without proper knee braces, they ride with a neck brace and I don't. Ah shit, I'm a bloody hypocritical auld bollocks
Many moons ago when I was going through the woods on my mountain bike I came a cropper trying to cross a gap in a dry stone dyke (can you say dyke these days) anyway, landed on my head but still had the presence of mind to cross my legs as the bike was coming down on me to safeguard big Jim and the twins I recounted this story to a young lady at work the next day (I was young then too so it wasn't creepy) and enquired as to whether or not she thought I should invest in a helmet. She looked at me both knowingly and a bit pitifully and said I likely didn't need one
A bit creepy you calling your dick big Jim. Anyway, little John had a few kicks in the past. He's a little warrior
Did another 30k yesterday. I'm getting very brown knees... I always wear a helmet, if you have to throw yr leg over it, then wear protection kids.... Mods - feel free to use the image below elsewhere
