Regrettably it seems the bike will he too tall for his 5’ 7” frame. There are no test rides available but there are specs on the internetz which give the height of the top tube, so I gaffa taped a broomstick at that height on a bike we already own but he’s on tippy toes and at risk of castrating himself if he lands on the crossbar. Dammit. I suspect the recent enormous price drop is to do with the ergonomics making the bike unsuitable for 50% of the male population (I’m 5’ 9” so bang on average height and it was even a little tall for me) and probably almost all women. I know the Dutch are tall people, but there also aren’t very many of them so it seems a bit of a brainless flaw which mars an otherwise brilliant design.
The Cotswold is a beautiful part of the UK. Most people head for the usual tourist spots, like stow on the wold, but there's loads of hidden little gems with working farms that are still as attractive. Oh, to be in England Now that April's there...
The most photographed cottages in the world...! Lovely around there. I am from Cirencester but in Surrey now and miss the pubs, one of my favouries being the one in Barnsley just down the road. Enjoy.
There's quite a nice run from where I was down to Lechlade, unfortunately it's a bit main roadie from there back home.
Was back over gorple again today. Very tough, brutal head wind over the high moors. 25 off road miles with over 2000 ft of rough climbing... Spanked now but satisfied....
A little 12 mile leg loosener after yesterday's ride. Lovely coffee and sausage roll. Sleet and snow on the way home, so cold completely numb hands.
I'm off for a freshener in a mo, taking dump bike II out. We've had bit of snow, brighter now, but bastard cold, bit different to yesterday....
I use these gloves during Winter as I find anything heavier duty too warm, I’ve had a few other cycling related clothing from them and they’ve been faultless for me. https://www.galibier.cc/product/roubaix-vision-iii-gloves/
