The Cyclists/ebikers

  1. More than I’d thought TBH, I changed the title as it has become a little bit more that just piccies of bikes and wanted to reflect that in the title.

  2. There are slower riders who were aiming to be out longer, just that that’s a stand out time for a singlespeeder. It was flagged up on the Stooge owners page, he rides a Stooge Scrambler designed in the U.K. manufactured out East Taiwan if I recall correctly.

There is a shorter event if I recall in and around Kielder but can’t recall it’s name. There are a few of these kind of events organised but you need to dig to find them.

Good look and hopefully better weather for your attempt.:upyeah:

  3. Forced my lazy arse out on the pushy for a couple of hours this morning before yet another visit to the dentist this afternoon  !

Finding it a bit hard getting my “Mojo” back for the pushy this year, a combination of crap rainy weather and bleedin jaw ache from so much work at the dentist, when I open my gob on the pushy and start gulping in cold air it was just making my jaw ache like hell  !

Anyhow, a couple of hours to kill so I just did a local loop to me , would have loved a coffee and a scone in here but didn’t have time today

Great to watch a few of these light aircraft landing, seems like they can get them down in very short distances.

Wierd sculptures at the Netpark, when I inspected them closely it seems like they are hydroformed metal triangles stitched together,..must have cost a bloody fortune!!

Local pub has spent a fortune on outside beer/fag shelters, proper job :upyeah:

Garmin stats for my couple of hours out, feeling right off the pace at the moment, but at least it was a decent temperature today,..might think about taking off my gore bib longs soon, I’m in no hurry as I’m a bit of a cold blooded git :upyeah: !

  6. Do they still do that Jack 3D? I used to push all day on that shit. Then I think some bird carcked it running a marathon. Turned out she was full of it. So they thinned it down after that. It was about the same time I packed in cycling....

  7. No idea never heard of it, I only ever used energy drinks during events never in ‘training’ and that wasn’t exactly diluted correctly. For me it was 1 or 2 bottles of Blackcurrant and a hand full of Wine gums, oh the joys of ‘bonking’ 10 miles from home on a hundred.

When the club I was in did it’s annual triathlon the energy drink ratio was rule of thumb non of the correct ratio nonsense. :)

  8. Back to the strangely attractive thread then I guess....o_O

  9. Bolivian marching powder this stuff. Tasted shit. Really chemically (is that a word?) but fuck me, it improved the old wattage over a ride.

And the wife always shoved some home made tablet in my jersey in case of the ‘bonk’ That was all about 8 kilo’s ago :D

  10. My latest tip rescue.
Can you believe someone wheeled this in to be dumped. Only a few years old, there’s virtually no wear on it.
I did have to replace the rear derailleur, I have to say I was horrified at the quality of the replacement shimano part!
I’m going to need a bigger garage o_O

  11. And that’s precisely why they get wheeled to tips!!

I’m fortunate enough to have a few nephews I can palm them off on....

  13. Still bonkas in my book. It literally looked like it had been ridden for a few miles, put in the shed and then to the tip. Need to ditch the knobblies now...:splat::splat::splat:

  14. They don’t landfill bikes at my local tip if they’re in good condition like that is, they have a charity shop where they’re sold.

If that’s a 26 wheeled model I may have some road tyres for that.

  15. The tip I procured this one from put all the bikes to one side, they typically get sold off as a 'lot' at auction and end up in Africa. I have seen them get tossed into the metals bin at the tip my brother goes to. Wasteful world...:(
Thanks for the offer - It's 27.5 wheels, I'll be after some hybrid/gravely types.

  16. Haven’t any tyres that size I’m afraid, people seem to buy bikes from Halfords on whim ride once then stick them in the back of the garage until they throw them out. :(
