Sorry, partly to blame for that, meanwhile far away from any public roads...

  2. Well as on the Twitter feed the Police stated that it’s perfectly fine for cyclists to ride in a bunch like that, it cannot be illegal. Unless Surrey? Police have their knowledge of the law all wired up wrong and are at odds with your knowledge of the law. :)

  3. https://www.gov.uk/guidance/the-highway-code/rules-for-cyclists-59-to-82

    Rule 66 says:

    You should

    • keep both hands on the handlebars except when signalling or changing gear
    • keep both feet on the pedals
    • never ride more than two abreast, and ride in single file on narrow or busy roads and when riding round bends
    • not ride close behind another vehicle
    • not carry anything which will affect your balance or may get tangled up with your wheels or chain
    • be considerate of other road users, particularly blind and partially sighted pedestrians. Let them know you are there when necessary, for example, by ringing your bell if you have one. It is recommended that a bell be fitted.

So it still makes them twats :)

  4. Yes but not illegal twats according to Surrey Police which is the key point.:upyeah:

  5. It's poorly written, 2 abreast could still take up the road. Personally, I would never ride like that, legal or not.
I had a motorist coming straight at me on the wrong side of the road today.....C*nts are all around us....:eyes:

  6. Can I just say my cat is blacker than yours.

  7. 2 abreast would be about 2 metres of width allowing for the requirement to ride away from the gutter so possibly 2.5 metres. Given that the legal minimum AFAIK is 1.5 metres os space to pass a cyclist that puts you into on coming traffic if there is something coming the other way you can’t legally pass in any case. So it’s moot whether they’re 2 abreast or 4, admittedly 4 is outrageous but still not illegal but neither sensible.

  12. I'm going to go dirty old man here, but I usually stop to let horses past, 90% of the time the rider is female so you get an interesting view as they go past.;);)
    And a nice smile.
