  7. Wow - you sold the SF?! - guess i missed that!!

  8. Yeah, but @baylissboy really wanted it and it went a long way to the Pani R. So no regrets. :)

I know he's looking after it, even if he insists on removing some of my trick bits,

  12. Hyper No1 - Bought from a lad down in Dorset who was i quote allergic to money. Spent 5k on it i bought it for 7.8k - the car was full with the seats down of all the oem stuff. Never planned on buying a ducati but at the time i was hankering for another TDR250 (this was 8 years ago ish). My mate sent me a pic of this which had me hooked. Swapped it a year later with the RSV4 i still own. The reason: it sounded like the engine was just about to let go...all the time...just couldnt get my head round it...
    IMG_2624.JPG IMG_2663.JPG
A few years later i thought i needed to revisit the hyper and got another one....
    20131125_132821.jpg
Having accepted the sound they make, spent a happy year or so on it but wanted a naked muscle bike (used to own an old slab sided GSXR7-11) and wanted some more of that goodness. Owned a gen 1 z1000 before this one and wanted another one, so, sold to get a z1000gen4 which i still own. Lackng a supermoto based bike i bought my mates ktm525 and set about converting it....wanted another hyper and a 3 month operation of getting round the other half ended in this, which i still own and have no plans to sell...unless of course my job goes south...

  13. I always liked the red framed titanium ones. But the black frame, black wheels, black bodywork really worked. :upyeah: That's why my local dealer bought 2 in but they just sat there for ages. They were just too expensive.

After it sitting there in the dealers for 2 years, after buying it he offered to buy it back off me as he could sell them into Germany for a profit. :upyeah: I was in the phase of keeping it for life at this point and declined.

I had no inclination at the time, it was a couple of years later that @baylissboy kept on asking about it (I may have posted a pic or 2 :innocent:) and was an absolute gent all the way through and a forum member. I wasn't using it and he was the one person that actially liked it more than I did. I'm glad he got it, even if he wouldn't swap his Foggy for ir at the time. :imp:

  15. The ones I can recall...

    2004
    - 748E, yellow. Stolen. Can’t find a pic

    2004 - 2009
    - 748BP converted to mono, black with white number boards. Crashed it in Ally Pally when my inside foot slipped off the peg when tipping in, so I converted it to track use. Sold. During this period I also owned a Bandit 600, a Kwak Z750 (only bike I’ve ever bought new) and an R6.

    CD6387E0-BAE0-4328-98F8-0D396FF3E6C6.jpeg
    2006
    - 996S. Absolutely loved it as the engine was immense. Stolen after only a month, seemingly by a magician as I came out one morning to find the bike gone but the Almax chain which had been looped around a frame spar and secured to a ground anchor was still locked and intact. The only explanation is that they cut the frame spar and bent it back to release the chain.

    2006 - 2012
    - 748R, late model, full Ohlins. Crashed it only a few weeks after buying it, again in Ally Pally when, ironically, I was test riding the rearsets with knurled footpegs which I’d bought after crashing the 748 BP due to its slippery pegs. Sold in 2012 due to financial problems (gutted).

    2012 - 2015
3 Ducati-less years in the wilderness where my 2 wheeled needs were met by a 2006 Honda Hornet, which was actually a great bike.
    2015
    - 848, red. Sold.

    2E41F705-DD69-4071-BEE1-15B9B922CA9D.jpeg

    2015 - 2016
    - 900ss, which I bought partly modified then modified further into a bobber. Incredible fun as I removed as much excess weight as I could (within reason) and being perched in mid-air over the back wheel like that felt very naughty. Currently negotiating to buy it back from the guy I sold it to.

    B9A359B8-88C8-467C-B2C1-FBEFCCE4C8E3.jpeg

    2015 - present
    - Monster S4, “Senna” grey with red wheels which has been heavily modified over the course of 5 years to become “Carla” (I basically wanted a Streetfighter but couldn’t afford it at the time so I built one instead). I also have a carbon tank and seat unit (not fitted in that pic) and carbon wheels, which along with the fact that most of the subframe and a significant part of the exhaust system have been removed mean the bike is featherweight and very agile.

    3377DA33-30B9-4F27-B1E3-4395257DA84C.jpeg
    2018
    - 848 Streetfighter, red. After wanting one for ages I bought one blind and absolutely hated it. Apart from the fact that I crashed it and broke my left tibia on the horrendous 100m journey home in -1 degree sleet while not wearing winter gear and had to keep my visor open due to not realising the pinlock insert wasn’t fitted, the riding position was awful. Sold after 6 weeks
    2018 - 2020
    - Monster 796. Great bike and I was going to replace it with a M1100S but then the S4R came up. Sold.

    2020 - present
    - Monster S4R, bought from our very own @dukesox .Presently being wrapped but stuck in their workshop as lockdown was announced the day after they started work. Absolutely love it, especially the engine. Definitely a keeper.
