  6. Like many A Ducati seemed like a pipe dream for my first few years.... so CBR's, GSXR's and R1's were a staple until I learnt man maths (and went contracting!)..

First Duc was a 999S absolutely loved this bike, I still maintain it sounded better than any other Ducati I've had..

    Ducati_999s.JPG

This next one wasn't mine but was the ex's, loads of fun to ride though..

    Monster_600.JPG

Sold my 999s when I got all grown up and bought a flat :-( ... couldn't afford a Duc for a while but got a better contract rate and a little trip to MR turned out to be expensive.... got the Pani completely standard and chucked loads of money at it... still not seen another with the Carbon Termis (although I'm sure there are a few about..)

    Ducati_1199.JPG

Great bike after a re-map but never felt quite like I wanted it to (I prefer the old style characteristics like many of us)... so sold it for a song and a serious amount of male accounting got me into the R world.... had the R for 4 years now and have no intention of selling...

  10. Very kind of you. Fortunately you can't see in this picture that the white leathers I'm wearing have a blue "Triumph" logo on the back; they were Ray Pickrell's leathers when he was riding a works Rob North Trident.

  11. Heck of a history! :upyeah:

  13. Cheers. Moved away from the brand in the middle years, to try a handful of V twins from Honda and KTM.
Big V2 motors have always been my preference and Ducati moving into V4 has really left me lost for new machinery,
hence me starting to look at 888/851 etc this year.

  14. The early part of the 2000s, I had a 996 Redbull Rep then sold it for 998s Bostrum Rep.
Then went for 748R which rode best for me with power usage and that got stolen:pensive:

  16. 1997 750SS - Sold
    2001 748S - Sold
    2003 749S - Sold
    2015 Scrambler Classic
    1995 750SS - Sold
1991 900SS - Sold (should probably have kept that one)
    1980 900 Replica
    2004 999S - Sold
    1974 860GT
    2015 Multistrada 1200 - Sold
    1989 851 Strada
    2017 Multistrada 1200s
    1974 250 Desmo

There're plenty more I'd like to experience before we're told that motorbikes are no longer acceptable...

    1199s Tricolore
    Elite 200
    1260 Multistrada Pikes Peak
    851 SP
    749R
    748R
    Hyperstrada 1100
    Sport Classic 1000 monoposto

And that's just the Ducati ambitions... I have a hankering for a Moto Parilla, an Aprilia RS250 Mk1, and MV Agusta 350B and loads more... I've missed the boat on a lot of things now on two and four wheels (can't afford / justify an Integrale or an Exige no matter how I cut it).

Blinking love motorbikes, but am definitely growing weary of some aspects of the culture...

  17. I’ve only ever ridden a Ducati. I passed my test at 36 and went to buy a CBR600, the trusty old beginners ‘big bike’ from my local bike dealer. Parked next to the 600 was a 749S. It just looked so much better by comparison to the Japanese bike. More importantly it was Italian and a Ducati!. I ended up spending twice my budget and took the red bike without even a test ride, after all it was a Ducati and everyone loves them and what would there be not to like!!. To be honest after learning to ride on a buttery smooth inline 4 the V twin was a bit of a shock and took some mastering, but once I'd got the hang of it I’ve never looked back.

I don’t ride as often as I used to and I know I should sell some of them but I just can’t bring myself to do it! I would like to buy a 1098R but apart from that I have no aspirations for anything else - At the moment!
