  2. I had the pleasure of living in the Netherlands during a big championship, it was utterly unreal and I recommend it any football fan as a ‘must do’ before you die. They didn’t even do that well, but it didn’t seem to matter that much.

  3. Whilst I agree with your point in general, fans can and do get on. Mrs GG and I went to a club game abroad. At the drop off point there was an English speaking fan in opposition colours waiting at the tube ticket machine to help out the visiting fans. Any time we stopped and got a map book out, someone in opposition colours would come over and help out despite me wearing our club colours, same reading Underground maps. We were welcomed in bars, rounds of drinks were exchanged and after the game they came up to us and congratulated us, despite what must have been a very painful loss. It highlighted how embarrassing the behaviour of some English fans is. Consequently if my team are out of Europe and they are still in, I will support them.

  6. yesterdays commentators were so gushing about j bellingham it almost put me off watching the match. theres a team around him which they seem to forget.

  7. Yes. A fat waddling Harry Kane really did nothing for 90 minutes.....
Southgate really is so frightened of losing that once we score England degenerate into a hoofball team.
    Utter rubbish as usual....

  8. Not quite rubbish but hardly an entertaining watch. Better teams will score goals against our defence.

Typical Southgate performance. Score a goal and defend it for the rest of the match.

  9. Yes. But England tend to up the ante when they face tougher opponents. Denmark ain’t an easy match… :astonished:

  10. England traditionally have a shaky start to international tournaments and then get better as the competition progresses.

…..before exiting due to the traditional fluffing of a penalty shoot out

  11. The Press generally are doing to him what they did to Beckham in the 90s. Loads of expectation and pressure, no doubt followed by villainisation when he fails to produce a miracle.

  12. Some goal that by the Romanians.

  13. Dreadful clearance by the goalie though. Perhaps he was waiting for the Americans to give him the go ahead to launch counter attacks into enemy territory

  15. Best game so far. Well done Romania.

  16. Not much quality on display for comparison, everything I’ve seen written about the games so far implies the competition has been pretty dire so far. Andy

  17. TBF its the early stages i dont think i could have named a single Romanian player before today and Ukraines star player is a shit left back.

The Wank (German pronunciation: [ˈvaŋk]) is a mountain in southern Germany, situated in the Loisach valley close to the Austrian border in the southwestern Ester Mountains range near Garmisch-Partenkirchen. It rises from about 700 metres (2,300 ft) above mean sea level up to 1,780 metres (5,840 ft) at the summit.[1] The mountain is crowned by a grassy summit which has views over Garmisch-Partenkirchen and the surrounding region. The summit can be reached via the eponymous Wankbahn, a cable car system that runs during the summer months, or by a network of footpaths that criss-cross the area. A mountain hut on the summit, the Wank-Haus, provides food and accommodation, and a nearby scientific observatory plays a role in monitoring atmospheric and climatic conditions. The Wank is a destination for hikers, day-trippers from Garmisch-Partenkirchen and paragliders. In June 2024, the Scotland national football team set up their UEFA Euro 2024 training base codenamed "Camp Chug" on the bonnie bonnie banks of Mount Wank.
Childish I know but funny nonetheless

  19. Belgium losing, didn’t see that coming. VAR helped a lot tho

  20. Kane offered nothing. Pretty sure Watkins won’t get a look in until England are chasing 2 goals and he’ll come on for 10 mins. Watkins is a really good outlet, runs down the channels and doesn’t stop working. If he can make Villa look good he could do wonders for England. But he’s not one of Southgate’s favourites, just like Grealish.
