I was with my son shopping for Uni supplies in Lidl. I wandered to middle aisle and saw a big Karcher pressure washer box. No usual model numbers but a quick google reveals it’s a K4 and at £145. Well I’m out of work etc but I couldn’t let that pass me buy, normally around £220??
Most amazing things, bought one a couple of years ago...transformed how I approach house maintenance. Even use it for paint stripping!
What are they like with soft furnishings ? And how about grubby toddlers ? ..... probably a bit of stretch ( just asking for a friend )
I knew someone who would get the Vax vacuum plus hose out, in, and all over the kitchen table and surfaces after his kids had finished eating, I don't think he's with his partner now.
The town where I live has a Lidl and every week they have wee booklets advertising next week's offers. Last week there was supposed to be a load of tools and stuff. I went to have a look and there was bugger all there. Unfortunately that seems to happen more often than not
@Chris I think Dereks bigging up his town has Lidl whilst mine is Lidl-less, as we all know no-one likes a show off. Or Derek means that it’s a ruse to get you into the shop for other items.
I often pick up the leaflet and turn up when there are things I want , only to be disappointed . I asked the manager about it once , and she said that stores get allocations , and smaller stores sometimes get none of an advertised offer .
I bought one of those lidl Dremel copies. Hardly used it, but it always sounded like a bearing was on the way out. 3 year warranty though, so sent it back before the warranty ran out. Replacement sounded the same. Put a cable tie around the casing, and and the bearing noise went away.
Yes Back when they had the Impact Drivers as a special offer , I remember some frustrated folk posting on here , and then sharing regional tips for which stores still had them in stock .....
Yeah ... they all do that mate ..... The Dremel copies I've come across over the years all seem to do it , and I agree it must surely be from the poor quality bearings , or poor case alignment , or probably both . I don't know what's more irritating , the noise or the vibrations ..... My cheapo knock-off copy did come in a natty metal carrying case , with rubbery spaces inside , to fit the drill and all the usual gubbins ..... and it's been kicking around here for years doing good work .... but that noise and buzzing !! So I'm going to have a go with a cable tie ..... where did you fit it ? ..... in the middle or at one end ? BTW - if anyone comes across one of those Doocarti bike thingies , don't be alarmed by the clutch noise ..... they all do that sir .
I was after an impact driver but despite trying numerous stores in Herts, Essex and N London, I couldn’t find any in stock and any saving I might have made was obliterated anyway by all the petrol I wasted on my wild goose chase
I reckon the casings are the issue. Found squeezing the casing in a certain position stopped the noise, so wrapped the cable tie around it there. Bought the mains impact driver too, but I've never used it.
Try Machine Mart, get the Clarke version instead then. Corded one is cheap, cordless isn’t. Cordless is the way to go though. Lots of options on eBay.
That gas soldering iron would have been handy last week. But at 20euros it can go on the tool shelf until required. Big box of washers. Always handy.
