have tickets to see this new film next week: McQueen: The Man & Le Mans New documentary on the film and the man, I don't buy into the whole film star cool thing and the seemingly endless marketing of him as a brand is numbing, but as an impressionable school boy in the early 70's I went to see the original release of Le Mans and was enthralled, captivated, by the sight and sound of the cars, the plot (such as it is) was weak the dialogue weaker but to see and hear those fantastic cars just blew me away, I still have the A3 poster they gave away, in my garage.
i remember watching classic bike racing at pukekohe raceway which is a track just south of Auckland and was at the time one of the biggest classic bike meets on the planet (according to classic bike mag) 25 or so years back. some 3000 bikes on display and a good 5000 in the parking plus shit loads racing in the different classes but anyhu the one that stood out for me noise (and speed) wise, was the vellocet venoms.. fantastic noise at full chat... the sound of a ducati does it for me as well... just wish they could rev higher! love the sound of a v twin being revved to within an inch of its life!!! (or further)
Briggs and Stratton in my lawn mower, first cut of the summer, the smell the sound the start of my biking year.
Have I already posted this? Probably. But I can't be bothered to go back and check. In any case, it's worth posting again, especially in view of the incidents last night. Enjoy that amazing sound and scenery:
There was this ;-) Laguna Seca - me and the Mrs a few years ago. Wait for the start! Still makes the hairs on the back of my neck stand on end! :-D
MV Augusta F3 800 with Gary Johnson as pilot. Not as raw a sound as some already posted but still pretty nice.
