It's where the carcass isn't getting hot so the rubber tears off it. Lower pressures would help heat up
Cold tear is typically from the surface of the tyre getting very hot very quickly whilst the carcus hasn't. (Pressures too hard) Hot tear is the opposite.
First service done today, bikes running a lot smoother now oddly... although I seem to have a squeaky clutch lever which is odd.. Opened her up fully for the first time as well.... s**t. The. Bed. - I'll get used to it, but it's a proper beast. The power is pretty damn severe and it makes it a bit trickier to use, not like the bmw's etc. It's going to take me a little while to get used to it, the way is lifts the front end etc. But I love it, it does what a superbike should do.... scares the s**t out of you. Nothing really prepares you for it, you give it a bit, you're holding on for dear life thinking 's**t this things going some' and you're not even in it's sweet spot yet. You hit it's 'power band' and it just goes in to warp drive. Genuinely feels like the back wheel is going to overtake the front wheel in anyway possible. I've got a tail tidy on its way to me from a member on here, which is great it really needs it. A quick big up for the lads at P&H motorcycles, first time I've used them for service and I can't fault them. Great service.
Thanks bud. It's getting used to the front end lifting. Because I've never owned a bike with proper wheelie control, I've always dabbed the rear brake. When the fronts coming up I'm backing out of the berries doh! What a bike though. It's been a long time since something made me have that feeling you got the first time you rode a litre bike.. you know the feeling
Fella, wait till you start hitting the red lights and banging up the gears, like a sex starved bull that's been on the crack pipe. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
I'll look at my exact settings later but think I've got dwc halfway. That for me is the right balance, it comes up in the 100's if you twist it quick which creates a lot of colourful language Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
Someone said to me just nail it. But honestly I can't see that working out all that well lol I'm running mine in the standard race mode settings
I've set DWC to 2 in sport mode and 1 in race. 2 is great for pulling a controlled wheelie whilst still being able to accelerate pretty well, but it can catch you out once the 'warp drive' kicks in so be careful. Put a race or comfort seat on, so you don't slide about. Gives much more control on the bike when it goes mental at 7K.
Malton Dyno , fuckin metal noo , but smoother at low town speeds easier to live with , top end revs out higher as well
I noticed this the first time out and a short twist of the wrist it almost launched me off the back. Does the seat really make that much difference?
Yep. Especially if wearing leathers. Once you're used to the bike the craziness wears off a little and you'll be in far more control. At first, it feels like you just hold on and hope for the best.
@Robarano , this tank replacement, is this because of shrinkage? On my 848 , DP key surround doesn't center properly around ignition, not sure this is because of tank or DP key surround, annoying to look at!
