What a beautiful day. Not embarrassed to admit that the bagpiper fading off in to the distance caught me out a bit and I found myself having a bit of a weep. Rest in Peace Ma’am, one of a kind. Thankyou for everything.
It was a beautiful day I had a few tears when the crown orb and sceptre left the Queens coffin and the bagpiper walking off into the distance
Can't argue with any of that. The bit that "caught me out" was her Pony Emma stood at the side with a groom watching the hearse go by after The Cambridge gate.
I’ve run out of bloody tissues. The view of the ‘Long Walk’ as the procession entered Windsor Castle was something that stunned me, the huge crowd 20 deep and the floral tributes laid out all facing the castle was breath taking.
Got to mention the pallbearers again. Not a step wrong. Fantastic performance under the eyes of the world.
What a very emotional couple of weeks culminating in today’s state funeral …. Some exceptionally moving moments , 1m people on the streets today and 4bn watching around the world and the Queen got the send she deserved … very special person Through it all I have to tip my hat to the ever presence of the police outriders and got me thinking that both Prince William and Prince Harry are keen motorcyclists (King Charles III not at all so !) and then my dear Mom reminded me that not only was the Queen a mechanic at the end of WWII but she also rode a motorcycle ….. just when you thought she couldn’t be loved any more … thank you Ma’am
If the lone piper and the internment of the coffin didn’t bring a tear to your eye ,then I really think you need help. Felt proud to be British today for the first time in a long while if I’m honest. Goodnight ma’am. You served us faultlessly to the end. The send off today was deserving of such a wonderful monarch, the like of which we will never see again. We are going to miss you . GSTK
We’re sat here feeling quite numb tonight. Been watching it all day, and just feel a mixture of complete pride, and also deep sadness.
She would have been very proud of the nation today, I thought the whole day was great to watch even at this sad time and I felt very proud to be British and have her as my Queen, never thought I'd feel this much sense of loss with her gone. RIP .x
