  3. The Police who attended last night were pretty tight lipped when I asked if the area was being hit hard. I put the same question to the SOCO team this morning and they cannot keep up. They arrested 3 last week for a string of burglaries but she reckoned they would just skip bail and move on, the travellers were mentioned.
My girlfriend rang me this morning, she lives about a mile away from work. She was in the shower this morning (sorry no pics before you ask) and could hear knocking on the door. Her elderly neighbour came out, he is a good bloke and keeps an eye on things, asked them what they wanted. They said they had come to do the pre arranged building work on my g/f's house. He then assumed she knew them and asked for a quote to repair some mortar that had fallen out around his chimney. The bloke looked up and said £400 and we will do it now, he agreed. The next thing there are two pikey vans there and 4 pikeys, two on the roof and two sniffing around his rear garden/garage. They did the job, apparently, within an hour, took his £400 and fecked off. Girlfriend managed to get a numberplate and rang the Police on 101. She just text me that they don't appear very interested in the Pikeys preying on the elderly.
How is it, in this day and age we can allow these scumbags to basically do whatever they please with little justice ever brought upon them? The site they were camped on yesterday had the lock on the gates cut and they were trespassing. Why can they do this without any charges being brought and I cannot?

  4. Numbers. Pick a fight with one and you pick a fight with all. The police haven't got the resources to arrest the buggers, and they know it.

  5. Hmmmmm,

25litres of petrol sees them off. Especially when poured over their sheds..........seen it done. And laughed with glee as the police told them it may be best to move, as they cannot guarantee their safety when they are not present. Travellers then travelled, burning rubber before it was burning caravans.

Though I must add the guy who drove up in his landrover pick-up with the petrol can had spent a small period in a HMP for the very same offence a few years before. He was more than willing to do set a lighted match at the dear minority race. The whole weekend of this incident was like a re-enactment from the english civil war (albeit it was in wales where petrol technique was used).

Us villagers marching in line abreast across sheep shit strewn field to confront might of the 15-20 caravan dwelling minority race. Sticks, spades and baseball bats in hand we marched with confidence and a little trepidation as to the results of our foray. Then, like a saviour from the hills, Ray the donkey man swept by in his old mk1 landy, dispersing the minority race and sloshing his ever so efficient flammable spirit willy nilly amongst the shed dwellings of our foe.

Hearts thumping we continued our march, now a mad dash with hints of charge of the light brigade (10 or so of us), until we could hear the distant ringing of bells (police sirens in reality). One of the guy's wives had called the police and instructed them is was like a scene from the crusades on the field beyond our little community. Swooshing in, sirens and lights on overdrive they acted a referees in hell. Ray the donkey man was frothing at the mouth in his attempt to give therm a warm welcome, and when PC Most Noble informed the Gypsy King that Ray was a lag with no conscience, Gypsy King saw the error of his ways and fled.

So endeth the Battle of Ewloe Green. Hurrah for community and society.

Footnote: The Gypsy King did not attend the memorial BBQ we had the next few summers.

  10. When I first joined the Police we would go onto traveller sites at will, then suddenly over night it had to be only with an ARV (Armed Response Vehicle). No reason just a blanket policy. In my mind this then added to their self belief of being the roughest toughest mo fo's about (Not AOF's), and helped in the degradation of the policing of them. So in an answer Andy yes the Police have been a victim of their own doom and gloom ridiculous Health and Safety policies. Not you, not the average bobby, not your rank and file but some meddling HS expert combined with some empire building Inspector on fast track.

  11. Didn't say it was plods fault. Simply reporting what happened. raise you another

  14. A few years ago a company near me called eatons who make concrete products had gypos pull onto land opposite his factory that he owns so he went over to tell them to get off and as usual he got the usual f,off so he said lads if you want to stay fine you can but you will stay, he went back to his yard and got the loading shovels to fill the entrance with about 40t of concrete barriers. The police came and told him to move them so he told them to take him to court which could take days/weeks. It was surprising how quick they changed there mind about staying when they couldn't use there vehicles to rob and do dodgy driveways.

  20. They are known as "do as you likeys" in my area.I remember, they got moved on by a very large presence from the Surrey Police near Haslemere and just completely ignored what was "advised" and went in the opposite direction much to the frustration of all. They can be a complete law onto themselves because they can and I'm afraid always will try to in these situations.Lawless and self interested springs to mind in many cases.
