I've just bought a t-piece so I can mod my existing lines into a 1-into-2 split setup, as this will solve all my problems! The twin lines I've got on there were off something else anyway so I'd already cut them down and changed the ends. One question though - how have you oriented your t-piece? Is it with the m/c into the top and the calipers out each side (horizontal) or have you got it so that the m/c feeds in the top and one caliper comes out horizontal and one out the bottom?
1999 - seems legit on HPI and has all the bits, although it has been sat for 3 years (Looks like it has been sat outside!) Got it from northern Ireland and landed with me last weekend!
I am not sure whether Northern Ireland counts as the UK for import purposes, but in 1999 only 20 UK models were imported. So you have quite a rare bike there.
Wow! I knew they were rare but not that rare... it was NI so I would imagine it counts in those figures - It was a steal really but needs a lot of love, if anyone wants to donate any time / parts let me know
cheers guys. i really havent done anything more to the bike, its just sat under a dust cover. i do have a couple more images tho, if thats any good?
Wow, that last picture looks amazing!! Ultra lightweight with no engine  what do you do for a living? Because I've got to say the work on this bike is awesome!! Oh and keep posting pics
Already on it http://ducatiforum.co.uk/f76/barn-find-748-sps-need-lot-love-13127/ don't expect it to be anywhere near as awesome as this thread though!
New here, this thread has me stripping my bike down for the track, Quality work that rear subframe is fantastic, amazing fabrication skills, ill start my thread soon dont think its going to be as nice as this
Ooh, forgot about this thread. Thanks for the kind words. I got the bugger going last weekend, and she's now a runner. I cleaned up the engine in a makeshift grit blasting room way back in the summer. (Remember that? It's when the days were warm and long.....) We moved premises at the end of the summer and the last few things to be moved were the engine, the compressor and the broom. The noisy room that used to house the compressor as well as various hydraulic presses was the perfect area to get the engine clean. it's been sitting on this engine stand ever since, and I had the urge to put it back together over the xmas break. I needed to borrow an engine hoist to drop it to floor level, I know its light enough to lift yourself, but it's also heavy enough to regret.. Over the course of a couple of days I reassembled the bike. I came unstuck a little as I couldn't remember exactly where some of the hoses and wires were routed, so on the second day I was armed with a couple of reference books and the ipad. I had a lot of images saved, and these were invaluable for reassembly. The clutch was bodged together, so I have replaced it with another. I think this is from a 749/999. I hadn't ever used the new airbox in a built bike, and I found that I couldn't use it with the standard breather tank. Rather than fork out for an expensive corse under seat item, I chose to go down the ghetto route. I bought the two cheapest breather tanks on eBay hoping one of them would prove useful. This one cost £3 and is from a 900ss. There are still a few things to do, and the battery has been stood so long it no longer works. But it is in a position to be ridden, and if it wasn't raining today I would have put a few miles in around the trading estate.
