The World Cup In Qatar (no Spoilers Yet)

Discussion in 'Lounge' started by Red899, Sep 27, 2022.

  1. I don’t see this thread because the op has me on ignore, but I was logged out and noticed it. Nothing about football on recent pages….

Love it or hate it that it’s in Qatar (in the hate campaign myslef) it’s been one hell of a world cup so far! Brazil out, Argentina scraping thru, the Dutch with probably the cheesiest goal with the last kick of normal time to equalise and take to extra time….never mind Germany out at group stage, mad results…. England tomorrow to smash it into the next round!

  2. Oh look another announcement.

    “Get over it, snowflake.”

  3. Unfortunately love or loath it it’s in Qatar, there has been plenty of input since it was awarded the World Cup. FIFA decided that it be held there and so did each participating countries governing bodiy.

It’s a very much low key event compared to any other WC time of year or host country’s influence.

As with all world cups there have been some shocks and surprises not least Brazil going out.

  4. Well done Argentina, hopefully in the Final against the Frenchie’s…..

  5. The game tonight are the games England invariably lose. That’s huge matches against strong opposition. We just never seem to get through them on top. We almost always beat who we’re tipped to beat then flunk it against who we’re tipped not to beat o_O
Let’s wait and see. Super interesting game tonight… c’mon England!!

And please stop that knee bending shite. Makes my toes curl….

  6. Nice try. Trolling skills = 0…. :)

  7. It wouldn’t surprise if the France v England game came down to who were the better team at winning penalty shootouts. When you consider the Argentina v Holland game if Van Dyke had scored the result might have gone Holland’s way.At the end of the day the margins between success and failure are very small.

  8. Well that’s us fucked then…. o_O

  10. But still it’s the best team on the night, no one but the stato’s recall how a team won as time progress’s a win’s a win. Bookies odds are favouring the French for the win at the moment.

If penalties were pure luck then there would be no need to practice taking them, The best strikers miss and the best goalies fail to save.

Brazil losing after looking awesome. :)
    Germany out in qualifiers :)
I hope England keep up the run for the underdogs tonight. I for one will be glued to it beer in hand.

  18. I am British. Having been raised in both Scotland and then Wales (moving to Wales at 13) and then living in En-ger-land since my mid twenties I feel able to cheer all these teams.
But Wales (where I properly grew up) is where my heart is.
