That full akra system imbloodyskint chap is selling has got me all of quandary, now full akra and a set of bst's has me feeling the love again, throw in that Martini paint job on my spare set of fairings and a engine blueprint while the engine is out for a rebuild,i feel a winter project coming on
Well....if the engine comes out i would highly recommend getting it coated as ducati takes the biscuit for the worst coatings and quality of fixings ever. Period. That's what's going to be happening to the hyper and the rsv4 whenever that is.... Here's my 525 engine before and after....coated in xylan which is everything proof... They coat stuff which stays at the bottom of the North Sea....
My own personal remit for the ktm is to make it as corrosion resistant as possible. No pig iron on it whatsoever and If I have to bit the bullet it gets coated. In xylan. Means that if I want to ride it to work on a day when the council just gritted and it's raining... Doesn't matter, ride it, get home, jet wash it off... Wipe it down.
The whole build thread is on the UK supermoto forum in the bike builds area, right from the start to so far.... If when the engine turned this morning.
Get an enduro bike. I prefer it to road riding....the bikes are deprioritised so a banger is just as much fun
interesting question. I for one got tired of superbikes a few years ago, too fast, too uncompromising for the road and frankly too expensive. I recently rode a MT07 and thought it was ace. for just over 5k you get a bike that's as quick as my 916 to a ton, is so easy to ride, is a hoot to ride and is biking almost back to basics. sure it wont score well down the pub in the game of top trumps with the gixxahh merchants, but it will make you enjoy riding be it road or even track i bet. I prefer my older stuff and admit i love my 80's and 90's smaller capacity bikes. I was out riding my RD125LC Mk3 at the weekend and even after 30 miles was smiling ear to ear. As for track - well i use a CRM250AR. with a whopping 35bhp and some sticky BT090's and motard rims it can make daft lean angles and ride around the outside of all sorts just for fun. you dont need 100+ bhp to have fun, and of course being on something like a 250 2 stroke trail bike there is zero expectation of being remotely competitive in the sea of 600's and beyond. cadwell saw consistent 2:08's which may be scoffed at, but i certainly wasn't last on it and lapped a few at the recent PS classic trackdays.
Mt07..... I think my hyper is more fun.... Well.... That's my personal opinion.... Same riding position... More grunt.... Better sound. I think if I couldn't have the hyper.... Then I'd go for a z1ooo....(new shape though)... Although a last model tricked up I wouldn't mind...
