1199 Thinking Of Downgrading My 1199 To The 899 Has Anyone Else

  1. Yeah probably not [emoji3] when I rode one it felt even harder on my crappy body than the 1199.

If there was no 1299 I'd still be riding my 899, I loved it. They just so addictive these bikes, I've put way more miles on them than any bike I've had before.

  2. I have an 899 and took a 1299 for a blast this morning whilst 899 was having work done. Other than the power and the gizmos they feel similar in agility and what not. I looked over the specs in the dealer and noticed the rake and trail of the 1299 are identical to the 899.

  3. The 899 is making more power and torque from 5k Revs, which is fine because my 848 Evo was shocking below 4K anyway, it pulled but everything was normally. At 9K Revs it's making significantly more power and torque than an 848.

I have ridden both the 1199 and the 899, I found the 899 much easier to ride than the 848 and didn't feel the need to be riding as hard to enjoy it as my 848 because it has a livelier chassis and 'feels' more animated. The 1199 for me just had so much torque from the initial throttle pickup that you almost felt like you had to worry about if it was going to lift the front in a corner. Perhaps it was just me but I am definitely going with an 899. Plus the 1199 'Power band' is really much more noticeable at 7-8k revs and I found this frustrating to ride round
