I think @zhed would agree with you on all that. He was just making the point that it’s the lesser of two evils and he do less damage as mayor.
Now I’m no lawyer but I’m sure that if there was a manochance that Sturgeon could have pulled some sort of arrest stunt on Boris she wouldn’t have missed the chance. I’m sure the political leader of the United Kingdom would have been pretty certain he wasn’t breaking any laws, even Scottish ones.
i refer to my previous post about the law. Or to put it another way. I am not allowed to drive to the pharma company in Livingston he visited because I have no urgent need to be there. I can have my meeting on Teams. Similarly, BJ could have had his meeting on Teams and had the same conversation. We are all equal under the law. Being PM does not give him special preference. Being PM means that as the head of the legislature he should be setting an example. Prince William got panned for doing the same thing. This is just another example of “exceptionalism”
Drinky, you couldn't be further from the truth. but, you do do fine a job of exposing the divisive nature of UK Politics. particularly from recent tory Govs, aided and magnified by our deeply Partisan Press. So much hate expressed by folks towards a country's leader (and its people for that matter) that has no real influence in your life, bar attempt to take away our nations resources both human and natural from a Gov that has zero interest in managing them for the good of the nation. it's crazy the crap folks are wiling to say out loud. but i know where it comes from, i know how this shit works. the same bile that has been published over the last 10 years pointing the finger at Johnny foreigner and the EU, is the same bile that has been coming this way since forever, more so since the 70's. that is why you're forgiven. we forgive you, you know not what you say. *chortle*
hmm, maybes aye, maybes naw. plenty have made a few bob from him and his, we are arguing amungst ourselves while his party is still ahead in the polls. depends which way you look at it i guess.
Now just read this back to yourself. And yes, me too. But at least I recognise it Notice how I left your *chortle* in?
it was a, it's cool, you're forgiven, i still love you chortle. i guess i could point out that you edited my post in a similar way a jurno with an agenda would. but i wont.
No. I haven't. But I was talking to a lad from there recently. He'd managed to move to Texas with his wife and 2 kids but his family were still there (Venezuela) and he's unable to go back. He bought his mum a small generator, but that was soon 'confiscated' I met him on a rig off Nigeria. Puts your own problems into perspective when you chat to such people....
i look forward to your opinion on the “exceptionism” on the Scottish rugby teams essential journey to the hotbed of Covid which is London. When do you think the PM is going to be jumping up and down to stop them or Sturgeon putting up road blocks to prevent return to Scotland?
I don’t know what Nicolas attitude to the Scottish Rugby teams trip to London was but I do know she slated Celtic for a trip to Dubai. So it’s fair to say, it was likely the same. https://www.thescottishsun.co.uk/ne...and-frustrated-criticises-celtics-dubai-trip/ I can’t see anything in the media about a rugby trip Johnson should have been refused exit from Glasgow Airport.
Or it would have been absolutely hilarious if they made him self-isolate in some grotty bail hostel-esque hotel for 14 days
Why can't he go back and why did the authorities confiscate his genny? Do they now see him as a traitor for moving to the US?
He couldn't go back as it's too dangerous. People are eating out of bins. If you or I went walkabouts in downtown Caracas we'd be murdered for our clothes. Get the picture?
