These were the 06 ones as in when the 10nth digit of the frame number says 06 . 05 models will always be 05 so if there were xerox 05 models they arent on that list even if they are very similar . I found this on the net years ago but everything I have seen says an email to ducati italy with any questions about frame numbers will be answered similar to the one shown .
OK, anyone know the e-mail contact? Tried the contact form on the web site but received no answer - now the form doesn't seem to work. 05/06 specs were the same as were 03/04
The specs were very much the same yes but they were brought out as yearly as they needed homologation to race in many series . The MY06 R was brought out so that they could be raced in the AMA series in that particular year as the bike had to be raced as manufactured . The specs will be the same but somewhere in there they needed to change something. Could be something that made no difference at all to the road bike but rules are rules.
The 749R homologation rules were different and thats why you can get an 04 with a numbered plaque of 450 and an 06 with a numbered plaque of 52 as they were all mixed up from day one . The plaque number on a 999R changed every year . 05 went to 500 ish 06 went to 190
