  5. Not sure about BHP, will have to see what the dyno says but it may be reigned back a little to stop the pin falling out of the grenade.
    The engin is with Wayne at GTEC performance.

    Did the bike start out as a complete 996 RS ie before the twisted frame? i see you have opted for a standard frame...

    I know of a 1198rs engine if you really want to go large..

    BTW Could someone explain to this numpty why this 996 isn’t a Testrasetta engine, I thought all 996s were?

  10. 996R bikes had a stretta engine in, 996rs is a race bike with a desmo engine.

  14. The RS is basically a race version of the Std 996 with different internals, larger valves, sand cast cases and magnesium sump extension etc..and pre Testastretta.

  17. for a start the 998RS was 999cc 104mm bore ( the 996R is 100mm bore and 998cc)

  20. i think you could probably say the race bikes were along the lines of

    1999 2000 was desmo quatro.. foggy into bayliss
    2001 maybe 996r testa... bayliss
    2002 maybe 998r testa..bayliss

    with a bit of overlap..
