This Years Project -- 2000 996 Road / Track Bike

  4. in 2001 came the 996R testastretta road bike. homologated for the 996R F01 with 100mm bore testastretta ridden by bayliss xaus and bostrom (factory). in 2002 came the 998R road bike 104 MM bore. the customer spec became 998RS (from 996R F01) And factory became 998F02 with 104mm bore in 2002. I believe.

  6. Yes, but the 996RS was a desmoquatro engine with a magnesium sump and all sorts.. as described by Mr Furry, above the 2001 WSB testa engine bike was F01 the 996R homologated this..

    996RS was desmo quatro
    996R was 998cc F01
    998R was 999cc F02

  14. According to people in the know the forks are WSB FG9760 2000-2003
    Engine is Numbered by Ducati as all delivery race bikes were and supplied to GSE with Neil Hodgeson in the seat.
     
  15. Time to clear the kitchen as the "war office" is due back tomorrow. Will post more pictures when the engine arrives.

  17. Mmmmm the 9760 forks are the ones I’ve been searching for for 2 years now with No luck.. the only ones I can get are brand new for £5k ... gulp!
     
  18. We could replicate them at work - but at the moment our toolroom are machining a 6 metre long I section girder for me as a guvvy job in secret... :eyes:
