This Years Project -- 2000 996 Road / Track Bike

Discussion in 'Builds & Projects' started by Tim K, Jan 17, 2019.

  1. Yes thats the setup on race heads.
They are customer corse heads with 39mm ti inlets and 33mm exhaust.
Cams are 471 with 20 tooth pulleys and wide belts hence no covers.
    Compression ratio is aprox 13.5:1

  2. What's the plan on registering the frame/bike for the road?
Will you be getting some custom covers made for the belts?

  3. I have the original frame and will inform DVLA that its been done and offer the new frame No to see what they say.
Alternatively it will go onto a 'Q' plate but initial conversation with Swansea suggests the original reg will be retained. Either way its going to be a track bike first and foremost
The belts wil be left uncovered same as the race bikes.

  4. It will be interesting to see what happens with a new frame and different engine.

Going to be a mega bike road or track

  12. Fair play mate not taking you long.

  13. Have you not seen his cloven feet then ……………...:imp:

  14. Is that a bolt on deep sump under the normal sump?

    Bike looking great.

  15. You’re right but it’s only there so I could put it into gear and set the air gaps on the sensors.
Waiting for the rearsets to arrive then the correct lever with a shifter will be fitted.
Don’t forget that it’s 1 up and 5 down on race bikes.
