899 Throttle Spacer Kit

Discussion in 'Panigale' started by Daniel Howes, Jan 29, 2018.

  1. I got the throttle spacers for my 899 direct from Ducati Spacers. They're currently on sale and a discount code I saw on a YouTube video also worked. I went for the cheaper 10-20 business days shipping option and it was around 20 calendar days when they arrived. They shipped them within a couple of hours of ordering. Fitted them Sunday, but haven't had chance to go for a ride yet.

  2. I finally got to go for a ride today and try out the no-play throttle and first impressions are, it's weird.

What I mean by that is I've always ridden bikes with play in the first part of the throttle, so have never known any different and found the instant throttle strange to get used to when pulling away from a stop and blipping for downshifts and getting back on the throttle after a downshift. It made me realise how conditioned I was to performing these actions for years with the throttle having a bit of play in it initially.

Where it did feel great was cornering, particularly slower turns when you're not using much throttle, that felt a lot smoother, where before with the play, you anticipate the jerkiness so you can deal with it.

Overall though, a nice simple mod, but took longer to recalibrate to than I expected for seemingly such a small change.

  3. @MarkyPancake i went out for my first spin just now after having fitted the spacers last week. Like you say, it feels weird. Not sure I’m convinced, when I’m slowing down the revs seem to jump up a bit. Not sure it did this before. Hopefully off out for a long blast this Sunday and I’ll decide after weather to keep them on or not.
