at mugello i was taken to the track medical centre and then to the state hospital, they were a bit twitchy at first about treating me as i had no ID or insurance deets on me. once they had my EHIC and insurance deets that was it (although i was probably the 8th brit in that a&e that weekend with the same policy) I'm assume the track doctor and private ambulance got paid, and that my x-rays and other scans were charged but i have never spoken to anyone from PJ haymann about a specific claim against my policy. im assuming that this happens because the relationships between the various parties (insurer, TDO, and medical facilities) are so well established or it could be that in my case the EU picked up the tab, I'm not sure
Cool. The Track facilities would be paid for by the TDO and charged as part of the track day fee. You were taken to a state hospital. E111 would cover that.
Seems whatever the policy / broker there are potential pit falls. Looking on TDR some people who had issues with Holiday Safe have resolved them, plus others with no issues claiming. There's questions and confusion on a few forums regarding foreign TD cover, on what/when you're covered, and what that cover includes. As ever, buyer beware, read the policy, check with the TDO & circuit on where you're taken in an emergency.
