Traction Control 1098r Vs 1198?

Discussion in '848 / 1098 / 1198' started by bootsam, Dec 28, 2013.

  1. I have one on my Desmo and definitely worth it in terms of the safety net of having the TC system. One off and it would pay for itself many times over on most bikes. You can alter tyre maps, engine maps, QS spark cut, and add a pit lane limiter. It's a well made bit of kit in my opinion and it impossible to detect unless you are pushing on track and it is at a high level, so it's very subtle....

Good luck installing it though, there were a lot of wires and I was glad someone else did mine (thanks Nigel!)

  2. Its not cheap but I have done enough reading (and spoke to mates that have fitted it) to know that I won't regret it like I maybe would with a cheaper system.

Yes Chamb, one highside and its paid for.

It looks fairly straight forward to fit and each units is prepped for the specific model. Everything is supplied down to the last tie wrap and washer. The bit that will take a bit of adjustment will be setting the box to the right level.

Mick supplied the software and leads etc.

  3. Finally fitted the Nemesis, if you are not a bike mechanic, like me, then it takes much longer than 3 hours...

That said the kit is excellent even though I had some issues due to the difference between the TRACK KTM and the standard road bike.

All the bits are excellent quality right down to the screws and washers.

I rod ethe bike for the first time last Monday and on the highest level (9) it kicked in quite alot so following 2 laps I dropped to 7 and it kicked in once or twice but the great thing is that immediately I felt much more confident with the bike knowing it was there and was riding much harder than normal after the first session.

I had some issues with the bike due to fuel starvation, another story but know thankfully resolved......

Next test, Aragon in a couple of weeks time. i have just fitted some nice and sticky KR Dunplops so let see what level I need.....

    Cheers

    Greg
