Travelling abroad

  1. V5 (not a copy), Insurance policy doc, both parts of UK licence, passport, EU healthcard. Then gas it as soon as you hit foreign soil!
    All 3 of us (Ducati bikes) got waved down by Italian tooled up plod in Volterra, Tuscany. Saw our UK plates and waved us on.
    France is clamping down on speeders around ferry/tunnel areas so be warned.

    I thought bikes got a different toll though and this refers to cars (I'm going on here say as I've never been on a toll road on the bike). Don't think I'd get one in time for Le Mans on Thursday now anyway.....

  4. Toll road we used in Italy from Florence to Bologna was 8 Euros. Same price for car or bike. The road surface was crap and there was no hard shoulder, 130kph speed limit and lorries must stick to inside lane. The scenery was good though and 1
    When you got to a toll booth the ticket was already in machine half hanging out; as if someone forgot to take it. At the other end some booths were auot, some manned. Machines had multi language options. Which was nice!
     
  5. Did you notice the name of the firm that makes those toll machines?
     
  6. Sadly no!! Was too busy setting my language option and doing the glove/coins/fairing cubby hole dance to notice :p
