Trioptions Pcp

Discussion in 'Ducati General Discussion' started by Rob, Mar 4, 2015.

  1. The Ducati finance is a joke, bordering on insulting. Do you really need to use their finance?

  2. If I decide on another Multi I will be avoiding Ducati finance completely. Better to take my non interst earnng savings and using that instead.

  3. I looked at a Diavel the other day which was for sale in a BMW dealership and they still offered me 2.9% on a PCP. Can't remember the exact numbers but I could put down 40% deposit and the repayments were something like £9:00 month for 2 years. Then the balloon payment. £9:00 month :upyeah::Wideyed:

    Beat that Ducati

  4. Your bike will NEVER be worth a penny more than the baloon payment

  5. Why not keep your cash in the bank?

  6. PCP is
To avoid paying Ducati 8.5% APR.

  7. I had £4800 in my Daytona as I owned it when I bought my 848, they took £3200 and then gave me the rest back in bank transfer because the Apr jumps up if u put in big deposits (although u pay APR on less borrowed I guess)

  8. The GFV's change all the time. I bought my 899 last week and the GFV was £6000 the day before when he raised the 'quote' but when we ran it through they had changed it to £5700 and upped the monthly payment a touch.

So... Yeah it changes a lot with market rates

  9. Not sure that is true otherwise everyone would just give their bikes back at the end of the PCP and walk away leaving dealers with loads of s/h bikes to sell on and no guarantee of another sale on a new PCP. Being in a PCP does however restrict you on p/ex'ing that bike until towards the end of the term ( unless you want to make a big loss).

The GMFV is so dependent on the market however. Were there to be a big crash in s/h prices at any point then finance companies would have a huge problem.

  10. Yes, that's not true. The balloon payment in normal cases is always under what the market rate is, normally by around £1500 from my experience. I have always been able to swap out mid term and had money in the bikes.

  11. I've taken a look at the figures for getting out of my PCP after a year and it is definately a waste of time unless you dont mind losing a shed load of cash. I've been lusting after an 1199R but even Advanced Man Maths does not make trading in a good option.

  12. Hey royal.... You in pb this month?

  13. Yes mate, pretty cool phot :)

  15. Didn't want to waste a free afternoon on track :) I was quite lucky I think. Minimal damage, just ebay fairings and levers. There's a vid on the Rockingham thread.

  16. Credit where credit is due - I don't think you've past your test that long ago and look (to me) like a very accomplished rider :upyeah:

    • Thanks Thanks x 1
  17. I have heard of lots of guys px'ingand being bang on the run rate for mileage and yet its rarely worth more than a bag of wotsits more than the baloon value

Eg multi 8700 at 3 yrs 18k miles after 2 yrs 12k miles offerred 9k....not me btw, mine was only £300 under what I owed

  18. Cash will always be king .if yove got it. I am happy with my deal as i got my dream bike at an affordable price and i can live my dream. I open my shed door and i am excited..less than 4 quid a day. ..thats a sandwich and a can of pop...a ham n cheese batch is not so exciting......i take a packed lunch to work and ride a hyper.no contest.

  19. My mate was buying a BMW r1200rs on pcp so I went with him for his test ride and tried the multi and BMW S1000xr.
I asked for details of PCP just out of interest and the rate offered for the BMW was 10.9% but their website said 9.9%. I phoned another dealer to check, same terms 8.9%?
If you're going that route, maybe worth phoning around.

  20. Lloyd's customers can get 4.9% over five years. Only a three month moratorium on new account holders too!
