748 Triple Clamp Offset?

Discussion in '748 / 916 / 996 / 998' started by cookster, Dec 30, 2014.

  1. so an engine builder is giving susp set up advice...

  2. Lol he worked at Ducati Coventry/JHP so I think those guys know a thing or two about setting up bikes for the track. All he had to do was open the engine room door and shout Rick for set up advise although im sure he was a very good mechanic covering suspension also but specialized in engine rebuilds and tuning.Sure he said his 998R turned in better with the dp mag triple clamps on tracks around europe.

This is also why I go to them for advise and not the members on this forum. The OP could also try cornerspeed or GTEC etc as they seem to know a few things about ducati track set up also.

Give one of em a call OP as if they are not mad busy will always give free advise over the phone or if in the Midlands pop into one for a chat.

  4. Lol I took the bait hook line and sinker.

That 998R owner also fitted a 1098 crank and many really trick proper ducati corse parts.Im sure the gear shift and rear brake were some ridiculous price.Really nice bike but he never went for the longer magnesium or carbon swingarm to go with the yokes. Not sure why.

  5. As described above, increase off set without longer swingarm will increase turn in but also lack of feel. Thats what was decsribed, wasnt it? So he will have had quicker tip in, but doesn't mean its ideal.
