I'm not sure OP is even paying attention to this thread as he hasn't responded to any comments or said thanks for any of the advice
When I woz racing outfits, it was down to the owners / entrants of the bikes to make sure they would pass scrutineering and to make sure the parts were fit for purpose.........there was no way the 'promotors / organisers' of the events could be held responsible for any mechanical failures....... ...It was down to us (the pair) to ensure nothing failed; which is why we won several times owing to a high standard of preparation.
I guess I wasn't clear in the original post. I did loctite the fixing to the bike, but being a little green, I didn't pull the rearsets completely apart and lock all threads. Now I know. I appreciate the advice from those more knowledgeable than I, and I did try to blame FE and Ryanair but they were having none of it. However, over A year ago I wrote this and the thread on the left side foot peg has loosened itself two more times! Most recently back at Almeria in November, where I tightened them up two weeks before I used them. Even torqued them. Used Loctite. I'm terrified to touch them on the day in case I break the bond. I use red Loctite, and nothing else I've fixed to the bike is falling off, including the right side, which has never budged. I guess I'm unlucky. In my numpty defense on the original issue, no where in the instructions delivered, or available online, does it say to take them apart and use loctite on all fittings. It says to check the torques, and use loctite if necessary. I'm a weekend warrior guy, and as green as I am cabbage looking, but, having your foot peg fall off at 165mph shouldn't happen straight out of the box.
