just finished shimming the heads tonight, engine to finish tomoro, cables to make up etc...an fire up at sum point this weekend, not as much progress as hoped work has been getting in the way this week.
engine back together now,i had a bit of messing about re timing the rear cylinder now running a front cylinder cam rendering the timing marks useless, back in the frame an looking good for start up tomoro,i still have the cables to make up and a few other little bits.
cheers nick...i have my 750ss to rebuild after this is finnished and a couple of xt500 flattrack bikes..i dont think this will be the last F2 bike i do.
she lives...i got it running 12.30 sunday morning without much trouble, all the rear cylinder greif has paid off so i well happy with that and the exhaust note is not too loud,i had a quick look at Rapier to see how the paint is progressing, very nice it should be finished on tuesday, just some tidying up to do and carbs to set up,choke cables, gear change crossover and fingers crossed the clutch turns up.
just a few pics, paintwork is done thanks to clive at Rapier Paintwork for a mega job and fast turn around....still sorting small bit out, breather catch tank etc were looking at taking it for a spin before it goes for its maiden track outing at weekend.
With the love and craftsmanship that's gone into this, it must be up there for bike of the year award.
thanks for the comments,it goes to show what you can do with a unloved 600ss,we have had a few small problems today nothing much just anoying....and its rained all day so no test ride, the bike is getting loaded for its trip to scotland tomoro night so i will get some pics of the end product....i could do with a couple more cheap bikes now.
i wouldnt have a clue,a lot but it is the first one,all the problems have been solved, the patterns are done so it will be easier next time.
