  1. I was reading an article recently ( in Bike, I think ) where one bloke was using a Desmocedici as an everyday bike - a bit mad, I'll grant you, but it makes me think that a Panigale can't be that much of a problem... And as for what the indicator switch does - well for years BMW's have needed three switches to do what everybody else does with one - maybe there just aren't enough buttons for him ? And, oh yes, to answer the OP - definitely a class 1, grade A twat !

  2. It depends on age a bit. I could commute on anything in my 20/30's. Now im well into my 40's the old knees, back, wrists etc cant take the punishment they used to.

  4. i skipped through bits of this video and i can reaffirm that he is, indeed a twat..and a bellend.

like most riders who come from jap il4's, they jusy dont 'get' Ducati bikes..you cant ride them like a 4..end of..and this constant whining about wrist ache....support your torso mate, dont lean on your arms...
Ducati sportsbikes need to be ridden..you cant just be a passenger...they are horrible around town. they are horrible when not dominated...why is this tit even reviewing as a commuter?? what a twat...its rather like reviewing an Ariel Atom as a family estate suitable for towing a large caravan.
if we ignore him, he might go away.

  5. satire is witty, challenging and funny.

  6. Turn down the lights and see the green eyes!

The S1000RR is ten times the bike my 1199S is and the R is not much better as I have rode both on track, my RSV4 is sharper in all ways over the 1199 as well, it's a great bike but Ducati missed the boat big time with the chassis as it just feel vague like the BVG says! Also back to back long term I have had a number of problems with the 1199 the motor smokes and uses oil at only 5k miles. But then so does my RSV Ha Ha, I also have a 09 blade and still trucks on at 20k miles.. Those with rose tinted Ducati glasses will never stand up and say the negative points of the brand, they think they are above other brands and are blinded by there own snobbery I don't thing there is any need to call the bloke a prick, but then most who do are a bigger prick IMO. And I note that those who do have shit anyway and are full off opinions based on nothing! Never even rode or owned the 1199 so why not STFU! Oh wait the green eye comes rushing to the surface.lol. Why not go do your own review. I like a review based on day to day use, sure you can use a superbike daily, why the fk not? Let's face it the mags and papers just get a big fat pay off to bull up any bike they review they use the same key works, awesome, phenomenal and blar blar blar, yeah what ever half of the blokes riding it have still never lived with or used them long term, and if you believe that crap they write on long term tests than hay Ho...

So BVG good job and not far off the truth, but most hear are so far up there own arse that fail to see the light of day...

(still like my 1199Trc) but it ain't worth the money IMO.

  8. Well that said it and maybe put a few people in their places!.

Personally, my level of riding skill will never match just half the potential of my 1199s and I would imagine the same goes for quite a lot of people who own them - maybe this makes me a Ducati snob!?. I could have quite happily bought the S1000RR instead of the Panigale but in my own personal opinion despite all they have going for them I think they're ugly and sound like a scalded cat. If the the 1199 is crap by comparison, I don't care!.

  9. Well said Big M.

I don't own a Panigale but I didn't buy my Ducatis because they had the best write ups in magazines or were the fastest. I just find other bikes a bit bland. The BMW is indeed a fantastic bike, but I've never even looked at them as I don't like the way they look (well maybe a little with the £500 BMW option colour scheme). Current Japanese bikes leave me cold. I had a good look at the new model MV Agusta F4, but it looked very cheap compared to most Ducatis when you had a good look at it.

I'm not a snob about it, most of my friends have Japanese bikes and always want the next Blade or R1. I don't understand their taste, but good luck to them. I'm happy with my choices.

  11. He sounds like David Walliams!

  12. Is there actually an argument taking place here as to whether a panigale is good at commuting down muddy wet country lanes and dealing with Londons inner city congestion? I don't think I need a video review to help decide.

  13. No no no. He sounds like the blonde guy from the peep show. Mr Webb.

  14. It is tempting ... haha

  15. Watched the 1199 vid, he makes some good points though. Whilst he is a twat, he makes points that are niggles about the bike.

He thinks highly of him self though.

  16. hehe. Thank god I was polite about BVG. Its true what Andy says about the s1000rr too. The thing is a ballistic missile. The QS is more refined than the OEM ducati item too. As ive said before I had it pinned on my 1198 and my mate went past me like i was standing still on his s1000rr.

Ive had a go and its roomy too. But and heres the big but. We are ALL label freaks to a certain extent and the Ducati badge has more cache than the BMW will ever have and the beemer is an ugly brute. As Top Gear once said, if you were having a picnic you'd want the germans to design the hamper but the italians to make the food. German cars are boring soulless efficient and clinical machines to me. But they are solid and reliable. Italian cars are exciting. Its about how they make you feel. BMW's make me feel like invading Poland. Italian bikes make me 'feel' sexy. Even if that is just an illusion.

I ride bikes for excitement. German stuff just doesnt do it for me. If i didnt drive a Saab i'd have an Alfa. Yes the Saab is boring too but I quite like their understatedness and it was at the right price at the time. BMW bikes are dull as dishwasher to look at. Even the ugly Panigale is better looking than the beemer. Plus The beemer has no race pedigree to boast about. Ducati have shedloads.

I like the beemer but i'd have a v twin over one nearly every day. Sometimes I wonder what its like to own a 4 but then I come to my senses and remember its the excitement and the je ne sais quoi that ducks have which win me back. BMW does not have this. This is not a snobby attitude it is just the truth. Some labels have cool cache, like aston martin, ferrari etc. Some do not and are unlikely ever to. Sure I am a shallow label freak. I know the RSV4 and the S1000rr is the better bike just as I know a BMW car is better than my Saab. But its the other factors that decide my choice. If it wasnt we'd all be riding them.

BVG voice just grates me and I dont think his satire is particularly amusing. He tries too hard to be funny and just comes across the opposite. Obviously he is a bit marmite. Probably a nice enough chap (to avoid andy having a go at me) but his commentary needs work.

If some wish to be snobs about Ducati's then thats fine too. Its their opinion. Sure some may have gone overboard with their criticism but if someone posts youtube commentary about bikes or whatever then they can expect to be slated. If they dont like it, dont do it. He put himself in the public domain and if some of the public wish to twat him off then he has only himself to blame. No point getting upset about it but then again its your right to if you wish. I am sure BVG isnt losing any sleep over it.

Anyway he has to be some sort of wally to try and off road a gixxer. C'mon.

  17. Lovely reply bootsam, I am close to tears.............

  18. Ok so we seem to be talking about the 1199 now but....

I had the pleasure to meet The Baron, though very briefly whilst on my travels. Seemed alright to me, this is the main reason for not talking in my videos, I know I both sound like a cock and also don't have much to say that is interesting, Although I suppose the baron just likes the sound of his own voice.

You can even see the short clip here (fast forwarded to the actual point, so you don't have to watch the whole video.

  19. Oh dear, hit a nerve have we..?

I've not seen the idiot's pani review, but he's still a twat. Anyone that thinks they're important enough to broadcast videos of themselves are clearly in love with their mirrors. And if it's done badly that doubles the crime; the bloke should be tarred and feathered. Don't take it to heart Andy, old bean, it's just the internets.

    Much love.

  20. Well the BVG has some balls IMO, he leaves the comments open for post on his videos AND stands directly in the line of fire and I like that, MCN for example don't have the balls to open themselves up to comments and two way communication with there readers! And that pisses me off, I tried to talk with CHAD once about a review and tbh in real life the man is a total cock who was unable to continue his review of a bike one to one, easy sat with a team of editors to hold his hand! My post is about the fact far to often people have a lot to say about stuff they know shit about, why comment about the 1199 if you've never rode one? Why call the BVG a cock if you've never met him? Ok ok so you don't like the videos is that a reason to label the bloke a cock? I don't mind being called a cock but at least you can call me a cock on an 1199s ;) so I feel I have to right to post and sadly agree with some of the points made by BVG! I agree my S1000 is bland, fking fast bland but bland, my blade is fast with more grunt than the S1 IMO and far easier to ride even if it has no rider aids like the BM, sadly the 1199 just needs some thing more? like speed for a start...Ha Ha.

Hey I love the 1199 but tbh I'd rather have a classic model Ducati and the S1 for track or whatever as it does do it all! I'm in the market for a nice 998 or 999 to replace the 1199.

Fig, did not touch a nerve me old mucker, I just speak my mind! you'd not like it if I called you a fking prick? but then. I wouldn't coz I'm not a fan of hiding behind a keyboard...Ha Ha, and it's much more fun to see people face when insulting them.. :)
