And that's just the problem with the internet Fig, too many people like you who are quick to jump in and talk bollox and slag people off! Maybe you should keep it shut unless you've something nice or good to say, like I'm sure you do in real life
Hi Chaps, So, you may not think this is me, you may think it is - but i thought i'd pop by and share some thoughts. As a few have mentioned, yes, i get a LOT of hate - the internet is full of it. Why i chose to put myself out there is to share my opinions with others - much like this very forum. The users log in to listen or contribute - the process is no different, just the medium in which its delivered. What people do with those opinions is up to them, but many find it useful knowledge as, unlike many big commercial operations, i don't have to be nice about everything - in fact, the clue for the tone of the channel is in the name.. As for thinking i have a high opinion of myself yes - i guess you could say thats true in what comes across in the videos. But then who would want to have a low opinion of themselves? I did not take the time to register here to start a fight or get all angry and start a scene - I'm just here to say hi and try to demonstrate that ALL of the thoughts and opinions on the internet which people write or say is readily accessible - its just that some are more visible than others. P.S. i do sell stickers and i know a lot of you guys would absolutely love them for your bikes
Fair enough. Perhaps I should be the first to apologise for the name-calling, it's just words, don't be too offended by them. Well, not as offended as andy is, anyway... It ain't my thing, this vlogging. I don't think that watching amateurs offer their opinions on a global website does any of them any favours at all. Almost all come across as self-centred (I'm sure many will say the same about me), and it takes a lot of work to speak to camera well, a concept most vloggers are unfamiliar with. But it's your camera and your life, so go ahead and fill yer boots, it's a free country. But please tell me, what on god's green earth possessed you to take the suzuki offroad..?
I'm not offended fig, I can take it mate. You've demonstrated what I have said right there. BVG welcome, glad you had a go on the Ducati, what others have you rode and what's your view, or should I just go on YouTube and watch some more videos. Ha Ha. Good will and peace to all mankind is my view in regards to just about anything in case people think I am out to troll.
Ha! Hello mr Baron. Something tells me that you had a tip off that something was happening over here. Welcome! Although seeing your most recent video about how much you love love love your Beemer, I'm not sure how long you will be staying. It does take something extra to put yourself and your voice out there on an open forum. When myself and my partner hear you, she is always saying "is it that Webb guy from the peep show." I really don't enjoy hearing my voice on play back therefore will never be adding it to, but you seem pretty cool with it, it's part if your repotiore. I say stick with it. There are lots of people who enjoy your videos. Like myself.
Yep keep up the good work.I found the video good and informative.I like people that have a grumble about things that are poor design etc as hopefuly the manufacturers will address these problems in future.I don't trust what the magazines say either as they have hidden agenda's from advertising etc so would rather hear what the average rider has to say about it instead. If we all just say its great when its not nothing will ever change or improve and ducati could do a lot to improve things if recent models are anything to go by. Hopefuly Ducati will take on board the criticism of the indicator cancel menu joke as that would really get on my tits for starters.Especialy if I had just forked out top dollar for a top of the range bike. I thought Ducati had a urban mode to smooth the throttle response round town but not sure how good these modes are as ive yet to try the newer ducati bikes. The more people doing these type of amateur reviews the better in my book as I get a better picture of any future purchase , what to avoid or look out for on test rides to see if it bugs me also.
Biggest problem with mine is the front end is vague (don't suggest front end setup I have FGRT forks etc) even after track time it's never been great, second problem is the throttle feels disconnected, and it's just that, fly by wire but with no feel, no way of identifying where your are on the gas, I.e you ask for a little it gives too much, all in all makes the bike hard work.
Several journos said on the first track test that adjusting the back torque limiter made a huge amount of difference to the feel of the bike going into corners. Perhaps that is worth investigating.
this is a getting a bit boring... Firstly who cares about which bike is 'better'? I honestly dont give a fekk, and no ones opinion matters as much as my own..particularly if im the one shelling out the money, and if im the one who's arse is on the thing. The fact is, only about 1% of us can get anywhere near the edge of the envelope on any machine made after about 1990, and even then, it has to be on the track..Ohlins, Showa, Schmowa...Jamie Whitham could kick all of our arses on a 1994 916 strada and he wasnt/isnt 'even' a world champ. Secondly, it takes the best riders on the best circuits to get a fag papers breadth between the best and the worst bikes...so for us mortals, its irrelevant. fwiw, anyone who is a fanboy of one particular brand and cant see the wood for the trees is a marketing mans wet dream..and its these people who will buy anything with the right badge...so its their fault when a company starts trotting out shite. Third...for 99% of us, a superbike is a toy, an indulgence, the realisation of a dream, and so is an emotive purchase..this is why people throw money away on p/ex 'deals'... Fourth, irrespective of how factually accurate this blokes reportage was of the fanny gusset (i havent ridden one), im simply not interested in him, or his opinions..mostly because i'll wager that he is no better at riding than me, he's reviewing a superbike for a daily commute, he doesnt like Ducati's (some people simply dont), but mostly, because he comes across as a self absorbed, unfunny, try hard fucktard. He's simply a bell end. Like ive said ad nauseum....if you are in the market for a bike, anything modern (well....anything from about the last 30 years actually), simply buy the one that you can afford, and the one that is the prettiest to you...If you dont get the horn when opening the garage door, youve bought the wrong machine. Personally, i dont care who says which one is the best, worst, ugliest whatever..im simply not interested..same as the bloke who rides that fugly beemer isnt interested in the fact that i think its the ugliest superbike ever made...ever...he's got the 'best' and im happy for him...i'll slum it with my shitty Ducatis.
Yup, your one of them alright. A tard 100%, climb back in your bottle, nothing useful to add just another internet ass. (no offence ) Its not about comparing what's better it's about a benchmark and the s1 is a good one, and cheaper in my case. When you push the 1199 it leaves you with questions, it leaves you in no mans land, struggling to find a happy point unlike other "benchmark" bikes, these are the point that let it down. You maybe happy to pose but some of us would like to use it for what it was sold for! Racing/track. I'll shut the door on my way out
Hey it's all kicked off. Quality. You're all a bunch of c... Nought wrong with a bit of friction. Opinions will always create it. At least he has an opinion. Worst thing in life is to have no opinions. I've plenty. They're all correct too. 1199 is a crock. I think most people will agree. Well people who haven't forked out for one. Plus it's fucking ugly. The worst crime for a Ducati. BVG fair play for putting himself in the line of fire. But he needs elecution lessons. He sounds like the bloke in the sketch show Absolutely With his 'honda manual'. So ner.
when i want your opinion, i'll give it to you... i havent ridden a pantygirdle, whats so bad about it?? isnt it as good as a 1098?
Ok, i'll bite on this one... Boring? you are probably the highest poster in this thread... 1) Many people do care which is 'better' - hence the countless mag 'showdowns' of every conceivable type of bike. If people didnt care, I think the publishing giants would have realised this by now. I quite agree about the fact that mortal riders cant get close to the potential of the machines and say exactly that when i compared the gsxr, zx10r and blade on a video. Granted, this is not the best video as it was totally unplanned, just worked out that i happened to ride 3 bikes in the same place on the same day - so take with a pinch of salt. (in reality the 10r is probably the best once its been mildly fettled): GSXR vs CBR vs ZX10r - 1k Shootout - YouTube 2) Agreed again. But if you had ridden the 1199 then you would know that the vagueness is even more exaggerated for mortal riders. This is a horrible feeling and the only way to progress with it is just lap after lap and increasing lean a bit at a time until you bin it - there is nothing that feels good about that and therefore - its not enjoyable. Where as again for 'mortal' riders like you, it seems a strange choice to be slower and have less enjoyment. I also agree about the fanboy stuff - even more reason why the opinions of others are valid. 3) Agreed but a mildly pointless statement. 4) this is gold. The main point being you have never ridden one, yet you don't accept anyones opinion on it - other than your own of course which by definition - is invalid. I have no idea what standard of rider you are, i feel i'm not bad actually - but then for someone who has such a high opinion of themselves you could have probably guessed that. Unlike you, i am prepared to share my track riding with people so they can help me improve, or i can help other people new to bikes to improve. I managed a 2:07 at Snetterton 300 this year on the blade (granted i crashed straight after it, but that doesn't count here are some videos for everyones hatred or intrigue - whichever suits you: Ledenon, south of france Circuit de Ledenon Trackday - GSXR 1000 K5 - YouTube Snett on the first day i bought my gsxr last year (only a 2:12 here): Snetterton Track Day 20/06/12 Fast Group - YouTube I also have some footage from Monza coming soon if you like that type of stuff. As for the review of a superbike as a comuter - why not? Many people only own 1 bike so dont have the luxury of a hack and jizzbusting superbike. I actually do like Ducati's, just didnt like this one much - mainly because i wanted one so bad, then was let down by the experience of riding it. I really enjoyed a blast on my mates monster (1100?? - new this year) earlier in the summer. Im sorry you feel that viciously about me - don't really now what to say so perhaps nothing is best.. Your final point - i agree totally, in fact i think i used the very same 'garage door' wording at the end of the shoot out video above... so maybe we are a little alike Hope this helps.
