Funky, you need to shush, keep quiet, shut your cake hole, whatever mate... you don't know what your talking about! Ive highlighted it for you, may help.
See funky you just can't leave it chum, you still keep going, digging the hole, deeper and deeper... Sorry I don't swing your way mate.
This is the stuff I really want to hear.Honest opinions as a lot of folks on here have ducati rose tinted glasses.I agree if you have just splashed out 20 large you aint gonna want to admit its shite. I mentioned this handling problem along time ago on the old ducatisti forum. My point was if Rossi and the like were struggling what was going to happen when they applied the same design to WSB bike and then roadbike.Suprise surprise I got a slating from people that had just put a deposit down lol but many other agreed with my point. After watching von grumbles review and reading his thoughts above id still test ride a 1199 but can pretty much figure out already id prefer a old school 1098/1198 with trellis frame that gives loads of feedback. I also only have one bike and that's it and use my 916SPS more or less everyday unless its proper pissing it down or snowing and end up on the fecking bus.
Grumble...i accept your opinion of it, i just think that a serious review of superbike shouldnt be based on a metropolitan commute..its pointless... Like i said, i havent ridden one so it may well be an utter pile of shit, but going on the last 20 odd years, in my experience its probably a hairs breadth between the best and the worst as i already said. Youre not going to draw any conclusions by reviewing it as a commuter..its just fkn stupid... If i read a review of a guy panning a Honda 90 because of its poor track performance and lack of ground clearance i'd think he was a twat...its meaningless... Why dont Top Gear do a review of the Zonda as commercial vehicle then? It was not the designers intentions to produce a bike for this purpose, therefore, it is not a credible basis upon which to write a serious review... Out of interest, I wonder if the Ariel Atom is any good for towing?
Like i said previously Matt, youre never going to talk sense to a person that simply wont/cant listen...A fanboy is a marketing mans wet dream... If id thrown £20k at a bike and every review was tearing it to pieces before i took delivery, i wouldnt be defending it..id be round the dealers having a word.
Funky you still don't learn, you say "people don't listen" but that's YOU! In the video he says "just got back from a trip in Europe" also "he's done the other stuff" and "what's it like as a day to day bike" The clues are in the film, watch the fking film and read between the lines...!
Do you think i'm a journalist? A 'serious' review? sure, tell you what, fly me out to Phillip Island with a press team, mechanics, slicks and brolly dolly's and i'll give you one. BUT, in the real, world where we all live, people do actually ride to work on motorcycles, many, many, many of those bikes are sports bikes. So your hatred is based on the lack of worldwide credibility of the review then.. not because im a fucktard bell-end - just wanted to get that straight and if thats the case - fine, there is nothing i can do about that. Top Gear?! haha, yeah, cos they always do 'serious' things dont they..haha. gold.
BVG, now you've done it!!! You've said the word "Real World" Now the real word Ducatisti and AndyB will be in!
@ Andyd - I would probably take what you have written more seriously if it was grammatically correct... But, that aside, why do you consider it appropriate to be rude to other people and yet complain when they say things that you don't like? Can you not see the hypocrisy in that? I agree with Fig; anyone who publishes themselves on the internet is, at the very least, narcissistic and should expect riducule... Maybe BVG's video was supposed to be humorous; who knows? The general consensus does, however, seem to answer the OP as an affirmative.
"Funky, you need to shush, keep quiet, shut your cake hole, whatever mate... you don't know what your talking about!"... Maybe someone should say that to you Andy - not that I expect you would take any notice...
JR sorry for my grammar, I can not be bothered to go back and edit them. I think you will find its the other way round, you say I have been rude? Rude to those who feel it's ok! My grammar is poor, do you think my lack of the English language lets down the brand? My facts about the bike are right JR, now you feel you must serve me up some of my own right... Are you another who has nothing to add about the 1199 another who knows nothing about the subject in question? Are you trolling JR? I think so.
I actually enjoyed the video apart from the swearing that gets on my nerves As I'm not riding at the moment it was great to listen to the engine and have a pillion ride into London
Maybe so, this thread is all about opinions! So another is a must Ha Ha. Im not a rude person, I am polite and comment on what I know to be fact, facts on the subject at hand! What gets me is when people comment on things they know nothing about, people they don't know, bikes they don't know, technology they don't understand. Do you see a pattern?
The pattern that I see is you expressing your opinion and decrying everyone else's; which proves my point.
Bull shit JR, go back and read the comments, your just looking to pull me in. Sure I have been rude to those who have been rude to others, check my posts. YOU are here baiting me, you've nothing to add to the thread other than petty comments on fking grammar don't waist any more of your time chap! You obviously feel obliged to stand up for one of your fellow members right, regardless of whether or not they are right or wrong!
Hang on, surely JR you can see what you just wrote right there... your posts on this entire thread have been exactly that.
Funny thread, shame I have no popcorn to hand. my 2p worth - only saw a pani in the flesh for the first time yesterday at Manchester airport - looked quite nice, really, and sure it would have far more (cap)ability than I. This side of a lottery win, it is just a nice to look at and not even worth a test ride. did watch a bvg vid after a comment from somebody else on here, but didn't take to it, so made a conscious decision and hit the stop button. We all have the option to turn off/on as we choose. If bvg chooses to make a persona of himself, then people will like or dislike to varying degrees (as this very polarised thread shows), so I guess it comes with the territory, warts n all. But given what I've read above, I'm sure bvg knows and accepts this - fair play to him for politely stepping up and engaging in a debate. lastly, opinions are like arseholes, everybody has one, and most people don't like somebody else's.
