  1. Isn't the world of the internet forum wonderful.

Do people go on like this in real life? Shouting down and denigrating others, who's opinions does not match their own. Would you call a friend a "fucktard" or "moron" just because they do not particularly care for your motorcycle?

Being behind a keyboard seems to bring out the same effect in some people as having 10 pints.

  2. There should be an annual meeting of forum members who don't get on with each other. So they can come out from behind the monitors and go toe-to-toe.

I wonder who will have the biggest queue in front of them?

  3. The bar analogy is a good one, I've always considered forum threads to be very similar to bar conversations, getting more and more heated the more pints are downed. You lookin' at my pint..?

I'm up for that, but who should I queue in front of? Andyb? Andyd? 749er..?

  7. Personally when I bought my 1199 there was no other bike in the running, I just wanted the Ducati. Racing results don't bother me although in European superstock it's right up there and as this is as close as we get to production bikes it proves the bike must be ok. All irrelevant to me as I can't push it as hard as them, I've done a few trackdays on it and can't fault the handling, it's flightier than my 1198 was but that's no bad thing. Other peoples reviews and opinions are good assuming they've ridden one but I'll stick to buying what I want and making my own mind up, and for this year I loved my 1199, it's now gone and replaced with a cheap old R1 for track use and a 748/853 for occasional use, I'm sure somewhere out there both these bikes are rubbish too :)

  8. Always had a soft spot for R1's. But I'd use that on the road and the 748 on the track. Middleweight track bikes are better for us who are less than track day gods as we can maybe get more out of them. Only my opinion as the 748 is a sweet turning bike and a lot of fun. However you may well be a better track day god than me. Unfortunately I always have the thought of binning my bike at the back of my mind and it tends to temper my throttle. Plus I dont race. I am fully aware of my inadequacies. My mates remind me of them all the time.

I think we've all learnt a valuable lesson. Dont be too harsh with name calling on forums. Unless theyre bang to rights. Or you know them. Or its good banter. Or its a laugh.

Now I would call my mates the 'C' word all day long and I do. My mates do too. Coz we is like that. A bunch of piss taking bastards. We are always on the look out for something to rip the shit out of each other. Anything. No matter how vague or tenuous. But theyre mates and besides they are a bunch of cunts anyway. We dont shy away from anything. We are even racist towards each other if it gets the laugh. But we are good friends and with good friends anything goes.

I possess not a handbag but I do recomment the R3 Kriega bum bag. Very handy for us fashionista's who have to carry mobile phone, baccy, garage keys, wallet etc with us and bought a new summer leather jacket with less than adequate pockets. Kriega is brilliant kit.

wasted to many hours getting angry on other forum due to people spouting off from behind there keyboards,

  12. Perhaps Nelson but I suspect your 1098 may be onto something.

  13. Bikey knows best...

  14. BVG...his own moniker and only been here a day ;-)

There are moments of funny in his vids, the foreskin one was funny, the headgear one in the petrol station wasnt. Horses for courses. And Art tells me he's a nice guy...just like all of us comes across as a wanker sometimes...and we are all guilty of that occasionally, doesn't make us bad people ;-)

and I'd rather have the beemer than a Pani on track, for the same reason I have a gixer and the 848 went...willing to crash has to be part of track riding and I wouldn't like to chuck any Ducati sportsbike down the road...jap and german stuff who cares :upyeah:

unless we don't pay our dues...

  15. Never found slapping, hair pulling, spitting, and swinging of handbags very exciting. But you could call the film 'Baron von Bitch-slap'

  16. “Bull shit JR…” – “A tard 100%, climb back in your bottle, nothing useful to add just another internet ass” – “you need to shush, keep quiet, shut your cake hole, whatever mate... you don't know what your talking about!” – “but most hear are so far up there own arse that fail to see the light of day...” – “and tbh in real life the man is a total cock…” - “Im not a rude person, I am polite…” - Yes Andy, of course you are...

  17. Just watched it.....yeah id say i agreed with most of it....lightly entertaining....my 2 cents (probably not worth that much.....)

1.If you love the thing then youll commute on it no matter what....if you can afford the thing in the first place then you should be able to afford the servicing...
2.I think they look really nice, but then i like the look of the s1000....
    3. In defence of the Panigale. Its not really meant for that kind of riding so you get what your asking for....if youre worried about snatchy throttles etc etc then get it on a dyno.
    4. If you can afford one of these then you can afford something else as a hack to work....
    5. Finally - 2 bikes is the way to go (for me anyway - on a number of levels) reasons: (again this is my own set of circumstances)

To summarise on Ducati's: Im on my second. First was an 1100s hyper and i couldnt get my head round the fact that it sounded like it was just about to blow up. Very un-nerving (coming at the time from a z1000 which has a silky smooth engine). As below got my RSV4. Got the chance for a second bike - almost went for a KTM 690SMC but for the money another hyper got me more bang for the buck. And im definately coming round on the cement mixer full of bricks sound! It is growing on me...! I think a panigale would be more of the same....great!

    1. Got an RSV4 factory. Could be as uncommutable a bike as the Panigale but i love the thing - cant see myself getting rid of it. Not even for an APRC model. I do commute on it sometimes but not often but when i do its and "occasion" for me.
2 Had a life of sit up bikes MTX125, TDR250, Z1000 Hyper1100s, KTM supermoto etc etc but the draw was too much and bought the RSV4. Once id got the RSV4 i found myself looking at sit up bikes again.
    3. Got the wife to let me have another 1100Evo Hyper. Perfect. Dont really give anything a second look any more. Totally happy with what ive got.

Probably going offbase a little now but theyre you go....

VonGrumble - while im not totally a fan youve got me intrigued so ill go looking for some more content....

Just to add - it has been an interesting thread to read - its what forums are all about...
