Why not? Maybe there is an impact on DTC, but likley only a small one and can that be set by tyre circumfrance on the 899? Cant imagine there are many 60 profile tyres out there If I were riding one and using it in all conditions (well rain) I'd probably get some pr4s in the closest size Another thought: will it take a 190 rear? If so a 190/55 wont be massively different will it? Maths needeed to be sure
Running a 190/55 reduces tyre height from 25.5" with the 180/60 to 25.23" so IMO you would notice very little difference overall but it would give you a wider choice of tyre. I ran a 50 profile instead of a 55 profile on my Multistrada and it just brought the revs up a smidge at the same speed which was great at 30mmph. Sadly the tyre occasionally rubbed my aftermarket end can so had to go. If you do consider the 190/55 I can whole heartedly recommend the Metzler Racetech Interact K3 but not in heavy rain. Andy
? For the same wheel speed you are actually going fractionally slower so in reality when the speedo says 30 you are actually doing 29 ish. Andy
Suspect the dtc is profiled for a circumference of a specific brand so may be a factor. In after market you can prog your own in. But that could also apply for sticking Dunlop 180/60 on. Didn't Ducati say ONLY the Pirelli would work on the panigale?!
If you change the tyre size, pretty sure there's issue's with the DTC etc... As mentioned above. So kind of only leaves me Sportsmart2's?
So, is there a difference between the DTC on an 899 and the 1200 Multistrada ? If there isn't, the traction control on my 1200s didn't notice the drop in profile when I inadvertently had fitted a 50 profile instead of a 55 which is a bigger difference than going from a 180/60 to a 190/55. Andy
