I agree but modern cars and bikes lull owners into a false sense of security. My old machinery seemed to need much more getting. I checked my 07 Speed Triple's oil level and tyre pressures religiously over six years and 30,000 miles of ownership and never found anything untoward - except once when it had been left standing for two months over winter and the rear tyre pressure was very low. Same on my MTS. Two years and 13,000 miles. Not a drop of oil burnt and tyre pressures always virtually spot-on. Both bikes serviced to manufacturers schedules.
