Ulez With An 888

  2. Is that website pukka? I enter various vehicles on that and they all fail, whereas when I enter them on the official one @

    https://tfl.gov.uk/modes/driving/check-your-vehicle/

    then they all pass.

    The first one looks to me like it tells your vehicle fails on order to generate business for their app.

  3. Use the TFL website. They are who fines you in the end.

  4. I don't know what the rules are for ULEZs but that website tells me that my 1948 350cc BSA complies

  5. Amazingly, 40+ year old vehicles do not pay ULEZ or CG.....My MHR turned forty last month, can't wait to blast through the cameras without charge, at twenty miles per hour :worried:

  6. Just checked with TFL , this website is nothing to do with TFL and is most likely a scam (even though they list TFL’s phone number under contacts)

  11. 'spose I should think about this really given the way things are going. Was it a straightforward thing to sort out?
     
  12. It was easy, just took some time.

    1. Step 1 - Send an email requesting help with a ULEZ emissions letter for the UK to Ducati Customer Service by emailing [email protected]
    2. Step 2 - Ducati Italy will contact you and and ask you confirm that you want to progress and will ask for a copy of the registration document of the bike (front and back) with your name as current owner and frame number reported and a copy of your valid personal document (I did a passport image) and they will then contact Ducati UK.
    3. Step 3 - Ducati UK will contact you asking for you to provide photographs of the following: -
    • Front
    • Rear
    • Left hand side
    • Right hand side
    • Engine details (must be able to read clearly all this information)
    • Homologation sticker (Silver sticker either on the frame of the bike or under the seat)
    • Your postal address details as the ULEZ Document will be posted out via Royal Mail.
    Once submitted Ducati UK will then request an Emissions Statement from Ducati Homologation in Bologna, Italy and should take 2 to 3 weeks extra to come back. As I submitted at Christmas, it took until now to arrive.

  13. Cheers Chris, been through all that for the bikes previously when veryifying their provenance... I bet they don't keep the records though! : unamused: Still have the info bundles so looks to be straightforward. I'll put it the on the sprint backlog! Looking forward to catching up.   14. I have got a couple of Ducs through the ULEZ approval process above recently. I have a feeling ALL Ducs are eligible if you ask nicely :p.

  15. Just submitted my M620 emissions statement letter to TFL and they rejected it saying I need a Certificate of Conformity. Grr

My story regarding an older ducati is not so happy (906 paso) After much time and communications between myself ducati and the UK importers as per the above messages, ducati declared they did not have appropriate emissions data for my bike to be able to issue the documentation required. I’m assuming then, that when they did the 906 paso homologation (1989) they didn’t do NOx testing as part of the family of tests but by 1991 (888) they did? Would be interesting if anyone with a 851 (1987) has tried (and failed????) I do live in the new ULEZ zone so only option is to get it tested or wait 7 years until it’s 40 years old!!!
     
  17. I bet you the 40 year rule won't exempt vehicles for much longer. They'll bring in a cut off date and that'll be that.

  19. I have submitted and awaiting an answer.

    The TFL site clearly states....

    To prove your vehicle meets the ULEZ standards:

    • A letter from the vehicle manufacturer's homologation department stating the vehicle's Euro standard or a conformity certificate
    I have submitted the first document and as it is from the Ducati Homolgation team in Bologna, I am hoping is will satisfy their needs.
