With the upper tank shell done I begun making the lower part. As the owner of the bike don’t have no €€€ I have to make the most of the things by my self, in other words forgot about buying stuff like exterior fuel pump and other things that make it easier! So I have to make a completa replica of the interior of the oem tank, quit bulky!
I finished the tank with all oem pump and hoses in place and paint it white as the owner wanted. I made it so that it is just to bolt on at the original chassis supports, this way is easy to do the maintenance on the bike. The faring brackets is bolt on to the tank, to prevent cracks I welded the bolts to a SS plate and baked it in with aramide (kevlar) and out side I have put a gummy seal under the support. The whole where the fuel cap is is made in carbon fibre as this is a part that suffer a lot off stress!
The front lamp is a second hand unit from Speed Four that I gave a more Coffey look a like a time ago
As this is a low cost build many things will not be finished as I like, This is a young students first bike and I have to adapte this project the owners wallet! He will have a nice and unique SS made with less than 1000€ including broked parts. One of the things that doesn’t fit at all with the Cafe look is the damage Termignoni canisters, but this have to be changed further in the future.
Noooo Not a Beetle! It’s a FunCup single seater modified with Porsche suspension, brakes and gear box and with a Audi S4 V8 engine 360hp/800kg Boy toy
That’s forged wheels from the German Porsche tuner “Gemballa”. I begun to race with cars when my kids was young as it was safer than superbike! Now my kids is grown up so now I’m back with bikes again, witch is much funnier than the four wheels!
In this moment I just have bikes and one old timer! A very very sexy beast My Austin Contryman I have sold all the rest of mine four wheelers
awesome build! I am horrifically jealous of your garage too Quick question - those exhausts - badged as Termis? I have a set of Leo Vinincis on my 888[1] and they look very similar. Is there a chance of a pic of the end of the cans? cheers [1]it does look a bit speshul I grant you...
ta! Annoyingly they look similar, but not the same (I guess there's only so many ways you can make an oval carbon can isn't there)
