Is it difficult to wire stuff up? I’ve ordered the ultimateaddons USB DIN adaptor so will see how it goes but might need something more “permanent” by the sounds of it. re heated grips Perbunan, don’t know if you saw but Ride magazine rated the ultimateaddons as the best with new Oxford ride grips second. Glad they’ve finally got rid of that controller box. Would have loved those on my sports bikes. Finding the 1200s heated grips ok but they’re not boiling. Wouldn’t probably ever put them on medium or low as others have said. Now have warmnsafe heated glove liners which are great so the combination of the two works a treat. Wired straight from battery.
Wiring was straightforward, there's a vid on YouTube I already had fairings off which helped. Thanks for info, I already have ultimate adons grips in my shopping trolly just waiting for pay day my grips have packed in so I'm just gonna replace them as they ain't the best anyhows.
I like being able to control them through the dash but they’re not the warmest. Hopefully the UA grips fit the mutley no problem. I struggled to get many grips to fit on my aprilia Tuono v4 due to the switchgear and throttle tube.
Yes, the DIN socket is useless and the USB adapters for it just exacerbate the issues of that jack. I've fished a USB cable from back (under-seat) to the front. Notwithstanding, I (and probably more here) would be interested if you detailed how to access that power under the fairing and what you have done to convert it to USB.
I got this info from this forum although I've done same thing to my previous BMW's but here's a link for wiring. and here's handle bar mounted usb plug, I normally fit a flush fitting one into the fairings around the clock area but this will do for now. I intend removing that DIN socket and using the wiring for heated grips as manual says it's good for 9amps.
