You know what I have been riding all these years and never realised that the hp they quoted was crank, I always thought they would quote rear wheel because at end of the day that is what we would want to know.
I know what you meant mate but was good for a giggle you have provided some entertainment. Keep using the phone
But that's not comparing apples with apples. You could buy /register a 64 plate today brand new. I could buy a pre reg that was registered yesterday. Both 64 plate 2015 bikes. One has 1 owner and the other has 0. Both would be worth same.
I don't think there is any difference, maybe the amount of engine oil as both are same config really same labour cost to take fairing off and get to the parts that need servicing. I will ask at my local dealer at weekend.
I have dual bike policy To do 899 and 848 SF was £425 for the year Comp to do 1199s & 848 SF is £600 for the year comp based on current NCD
Not in the dealership they wouldnt again if you had the money to buy youd buy the one with newest reg regardless of mileage the 1 owner pre reg 64 plate 15 bike sat next to a 15 plate no owner bike which arw you going to pick if theyre same price? So the pre reg one will be cheaper
I was surprised to, but I am a slow rider so they took that into consideration, mind you the excess on the 1199 has gone from £250 to £1000
I think your missing the point. You do realise a pre reg can be on the same plate as a new bike? It simply means the bike was registered to the dealer before you collected it. Whether it's 64 , 14 or 15 plates. Ok you buy a 15 plate for delivery on 1st March as a new bike. I'll get a pre reg 15 plate registered 1st March and I'll collect that on the 2nd March. It's called tax and turn. The dealer has better margins doing it this way which makes the bike cheaper for you to buy. I could of bought a 1199s for 17500 new with 0 miles on a 14 plate in July. The bike was 2 days old in terms of registration. Opted for a 1199 abs for £13350 instead.
Not sure if I honest. Pre reg is the sensible mans way to buy. And bearing in mind I sell New cars for a living. Not pre reg , or used. Only reason to buy new is if you need the subsidised finance or pcp rates backed from a manufacturer. I'll give you my scenario in July. Bike paid in full with debit card. Option 1- buy a new 899 for £12600. It would be registered on a 14 plate new in July. I'm the first Keeper on v5. Option 2 buy a 1199 for £13350. Bike was registered 2 days prior. Still a 14 plate. And still 0 miles. I'm the 2nd keeper. Which is worth more in say 2 years? The pre reg or the new bike? (Yes I know I can't compare a 1199 to 899 as it's not apples for apples but that's the same as your example by comparing bikes on different plates. )
i'd say the 1199 due to the bigger bike, more of a market. once the bikes second hand it's second hand! i usually by private, can't deal with dealers 2k mark ups!!! so for me it's ok, you paid less for it, so will i
I got offered a pcp on a 2 year old 1199s !£16000 for that bike but could of had it for £15000 ! That was what i was trying to get across a pre reg is generally worth less !
we are talking a dealer pre reg a bike from new with zero miles not a 2 year old panni??? you get a better deal on a pre reg, with zero miles as a new unregistered bike simples as ,
Yer we were but i was just saying about that bike i could still have pcp and it was 2 years old! I agree thst you can get better deals on a pre reg ! I got my 899 brand new £12500 was gonna wait till 1st march but the free termi deal came out in december so registered it last month ! They also gave me evo tech tailtidy and seat hump free ! Also lowered the pcp finance rate saving me around £150 a year not alot but pays for the road tax!
