I'd cancel if they increased the price on me. As a matter of principle, based upon the agreed price at the time of purchase.
I would cancel also…. No question. It’s a while ago now but when I worked in the shop, if something was priced it HAD to be sold or removed from sale entirely, that meant for example if we price shoei xr1000 at the wrong price we had to remove ‘all’ of them from sale or sell them at that price. Even if customers paid deposits and picked up later
Have you actually signed anything yet? You normally sign on collection I thought? Would also cancel out of principal, but depends how bad you want it.
I have placed my order. Paid my deposit. Had a sales order raised with the old price on it. The dealer has not mentioned any price increase to me and I certainly have not raised it with them. The bike is due in the summer. I’m simply trying to establish the protocol which I suspect is down to the scruples of the dealer. Time will tell but I think it’s highly likely the old price will hold.
If there's been; offer acceptance consideration Then that's a (simple) contract, however the diable is always in the detail, check the contract/small print for price adjustments prior to payment in full etc. I'd cancel on principle for just being address as 'Pal'.
Worth noting that the 'Order form' is a dealer/franchise specific one, so Ducati don't really have a say here. I've bought loads of bikes, the most recent was my V2 from Blade in Abingdon, I've looked back over various order forms from time of deposit, all state sale price, and none of them have any T&C's regarding prices being A) Time Bound, or B) Changing prior to completion of sale.
There’s been a whole lot of bullshit and fairy lights bandied about about numbers on various forums/Facebook etc. What I can tell you definitively is that only 200 are destined for the UK. That number came from Ducati UK head office
Wow that is a low number! Helps us retain residual value, not that I’m ever going to sell mine. Bloody Facebook is a curse.
Same here. I have a business page for nothing but maintaining Google visibility but that’s it. If it never existed there wouldn’t be any gap in my life for sure
Calling a customer about to spend all that money on a dream bike "Pal" or "Mate" is a rapid exit to a non customer facing job if I was sales manager. What a knob
A real mate would say, Apologies but the sales agreement says that the price may change- we have no control over what Ducati charges us, we have a few on the waiting list for the Bayliss if you dont want to go ahead but its never going to be cheaper and we don't want you to miss out on this special for few quid, we can give you a free service You know, not be a knob!
Depends on whether he's really a mate, or whether it's one of those 'fake' mates who you never socialise with but you think they are a mate and they call you 'Pal' ironically.. Either way, think the majority vote with walking away from a dealer who tries to change a price mid sale.
