Here's my thoughts on the V2: V2 review after 180 miles. I am in lurve. I’ve been riding for 30yrs. This bike has usable power. It has a first gear that is actually usable. The word here is usable. She doesn’t mock you and try to rip your face off - she’s more an eager puppy that is far faster than you and wants to have fun. With DWC turned off, she’ll lift the front wheel on the throttle in the first 2 gears. Probably first 3 - but running her in and wet slimy roads. She sounds awesome with the stock cans. About the same as my MV with aftermarket cans. Seriously-no need for aftermarket cans. Pops and spits and bangs with stock cans. The build quality and engineering is far in excess of my MV Agusta. The only downside for me for this bike is that I really can’t reach the floor. I can get 1 toe down at once. Which would be ok-till you find a road junction with potholes or an adverse camber. So yeah, plague aside - I’m very excited about this summer.
I’m up to about 240 miles but haven’t played too much with the settings other than setting the engine and throttle to max in sport mode. I’ve fitted the throttle spacers also which has massively helped. In all the time I’ve ridden it I’ve only been on dry roads once which is really frustrating, actually took my Daytona out instead on Saturday as I’m sick of trundling around on the V2 then having to wash it so just going to have to be patient with the weather
Can I see a photo of this? I also have one of these, modified to my taste but always looking for ideas.
Anything more than 600cc after 2000s is a complete waste on the road... 2 seconds of WOT in any gear and you are above all speed limits on Earth.
The simple answer is what are you going too be using it for ... 100% track ... V4 80% track 20% street ... V2 50% track 50% street ... V2 20% track 80% street ... Monster 1200R 100% street ... Monster 1200R/S - 1260 diavel This is my opinion ... If you are doing any long distance road riding the V4 or V2 will make you hate the road ...
I like the way this was phrased so here's my view on it.... "The simple answer is what are you going too be using it for ... 100% track (If you are fast group, and prepared to loose big money if you launch it at the fence) ... V4 100% track (If you are Inters, because you probably have lots of room to get later on the brakes and carry corner speed, the V4 will tempt you to be lazy).. V2 80% track 20% street ... V2 50% track 50% street ... V2 20% track 80% street ... Monster 1200S/ Ducati Supersport S This is my opinion also ...

Just had a good blast on the V2, and done 116 miles I’m not sure if I’m comparing it with my old 959 (as I last rode that about 15 months ago) or the Diavel 1260S but either way the new V2 is awesome from a performance, handling and comfort POV and a much better bike than either as far as I’m concerned
Just did another 100 hoon on my V2. Thoughts V4 vs V2: Angelina Jolie or Scarlet Johansson. They’re both better than you. They’ll both make you smile. Either will kill you. One will drink your blood.
I have a 1299 which is now only for track use. I am not good enough for the bike but I bought it over it the 959 because I preferred the single sided swing arm and the better electronics. if I was buying a bike today and the choice was V2 or V4, it would be V2. No debate in my mind about that. Though I would probably end up with a 1299 just because I much prefer the looks. There is a lot of heart in these decisions, for me anyway.
Very Nice. What do you think of the Intiminators? A few of mine; I can never make my mind up about mirrors Sorry to the OP for spamming your thread.
Nice 17” wheels I see? I would liked to have done that but I could not solve the front guard problem which you have done. Can I ask where you got that from? Nice caliper! same rear shocks it seems. Are those the shorter BC Preds? The intiminators are great. Dramatically change the character of the front end. It falls into corners effortlessly now. The first time I went for a turn I almost put it on its side. Had to correct myself. But a good investment. Maybe £150 all in.
Maybe start a thruxton thread? Have also got some comments around mods as we’ve done some stuff with ours but don’t want to put them here
