Was told years ago with my first Pani by the dealer to never start the bike with the throttle back as the ecu would register that as the neutral point. The slack is there by design.
Design or not, my Pani is much much nicer with the spacers. No issues at all. Theres still a tiny bit of free play, but not as much as there was before.
