V4 V4 Scary Moment

  1. I use Urban a lot more than I thought I would over the years, mainly for those miserable days caught in a city or built up area.

  2. Fair comment , I was being silly lol . Never used it on mine as never venture into the City , but do ride all year round . I use Touring , full power , wheelie off and tc down to sport setting , suspension hard . Sport , wheelie off and the rest low , suspension medium , apart from Spain tour so normally hardest .

  3. I genuinely don't think I ever took my Pikes Peak out of Sport or Race mode, in the 3 years I had it.

  4. That was me. I used the Urban settings you had suggested for day to day riding. It was fine until you were on a steep hairpin, just couldn't deal with it.

    • Thanks Thanks x 1
  5. If you rode the V4 up Scafell Pike you must be best friends with Dougie Lampkin??!! :joy::joy:

  6. Pretty much the same here :D the wheelie control had the biggest impact for me, it's off in all modes.

  7. Only time I’ve really used Urban was when riding on recently resurfaced roads in France - where they just dump 100’s of kilos of gravel on the roads!

  8. We have modes? Next you’ll be telling me we have a back brake too.

  9. Wishful thinking.

  10. Maybe had it in Enduro mode :p

  11. Okay, my wording was off, I didn't mean up to the top!! :yum

  12. I’d be interested in what your dealers comments are. I experienced the problem going up steep hairpins in Wales in 2023. It was before the first service & engine low speed running was a bit erratic then anyway. It’s improved since then but I haven’t done any steep climbs since. I think I was in Urban mode.

  13. Ok, I may be a bit out of date, but are you not still able to "edit" the settings in each mode to dial out the wheelie sensitivity? Or was that only an option on the first generation 1200 Mutleys??

  14. There seems to be a common theme emerging  I’m off to collect some bits later so will raise the subject whilst I’m there. Andy

  15. Even the kitchen sink is adjustable :joy: Far too complicated for my aging brain. Andy

  16. Not sure on the V4, but on my 1260 you can remove DWC on all modes.

  17. Maybe Ducati need to introduce location-specific wheelie control!

Haha - I should have posted that as an April fool thing! "New feature: GPS-driven anti-wheelie control to help with hairpin bends!"

  18. Yes you can

  19. With the V4 you can go into each of the modes separately and adjust pretty much anything. I have my urban mode setup with the suspension set to its softest so if I'm on a chewed up road i switch to that to smooth out the ride. I left it in that mode at the bottom of a particularly rough pass I was on but I soon realised it was interfering too much to get round the hair pins. I wouldn't suggest it was a problem with the bike at all, it was how I had it set and the environment.

  20. Had a chat with the workshop manager this morning and he was not aware of any of their customers experiencing the issue described in this post. He checked a Ducati maintained “tips and hints” page that all the dealers have access to and there was nothing on there either. In his opinion, the loss of engine power could realistically be associated with how the IMU sees a steep incline in URBAN mode, resulting in the DWC doing what it thinks is correct. Full resolution would be a whole new level of electronics for GPS location and terrain data but until feedback to Ducati indicates it’s more than an isolated issue, I’d say, don’t use URBAN or if you do, decrease the sensitivity of the DWC.
