  3. To be fair, that’s only if you want to keep the bmw warranty.

If you don’t just get one of the usual suspects to rebuild it :)

It’s merely bmw saying “hey you want a complete warranty on essentially a race bike, that’s cool but stick to this routine”

nobody else officially warrants a race engine. And that interval is around double what you’d expect on a race motor. I know people in the NLR paddock that do more than £8k on a rebuild on ‘normal bikes’

  5. Love the hp. Would have one in the house and possibly sit naked on it with that sexy carbon fibre itch

  7. I’d love an hp4 race. But the thought of crashing one would mean I’d likely be quicker on a cb500 haha

15k I’m told for fairings alone

  8. Wow! First job would be to slap a set of FullSix on. Just as good and much cheaper by the sound of it...

  11. Maybe the car on chassis and WSBK type forks would give it away :p

that article says the front end is €29k. Wow.

  12. I would expect a race engine to be serviced at least once a year, I believe some are mixing a track day bike with proper racing.
IMHO those stated service intervals can be doubled for most of components listed above if only track use.
The major issue is the complexity of a V4 engine and also the cost price of oem Ducati parts.....
A 2016 R1 race engine (superstock level) yearly service including the cost of major components is around £3K, guess this is not an "astronomic" figure for a race team.

  13. Racing is a very different kettle of fish compared to track days I reckon.

  14. They say that yeah, but I’m not so sure. From memory aren’t they FGR 300’s ? They’re around 9/10k from memory.

    Still not cheap though haha
