V4 V4r Or V4 Speciale

Discussion in 'Panigale' started by JJLC, Aug 25, 2018.

  1. Nope, but it could be the exchange rate at launch so somewhat more helpful perhaps :)

  2. Or £45,000 with a Sterling collapse. :thinkingface::p

  4. If you are asking then mine is more likely, if you are of a similar mind to the sniffling Duke then it will be his that you will be wishing for, either way both more possible than your current conversion :yum

  5. My plan was take the V4S (which I’m hugely impressed with) then perhaps wait for the R gen 2, which is usually significantly better. I’m tricking up the V4S now with the hope I’ll be able to transfer to an R if I get one.

We’ll see. I might be skint by then.

  6. If the Pani twins are anything to go by I would say get the V4S if you are doing some road riding and want an easier time on track. Get the R if you want a handful of screaming bastard that can be a mare to setup in challenging conditions but is sublime those times when it does all comes together. At Brno last weekend I went from one session where I literally couldn't ride it due to not being able to hold onto the bars for head shake tank slapping when the rear was spinning up on bumps, to shifting the forks down 3mm and having one of my best sessions ever. The V4S I've rode on the road seemed more planted than the twin but from the press videos it looks like it is still a handful on the limit so I'm expecting the R to be very physical again.

  7. I had a V4S ordered. Was going to do just this.. custom paint job (not Speciale copy) plus the bling ... £32k roughly. But that's all it'll ever be. A blinged V4S. My 1299S was exactly that.. and worth £18k after 3 years. So I switched to the Speciale hoping that it would hold some value being a limited edition. If it ever turns up!!

  8. Would you suggest to wait for the GEN2 V4S trackbike only to see if they will clean up the unstabilty, and other issues.. ?

  9. I was talking to my local dealer on Wednesday evening at their bike evening and they were saying same price or thereabouts as the Speciale. I was urged to put a deposit down for the R also, which I just might do.

I was also told the V4R may well be in Milan this November, which is great cos it just so happens I'm going. :upyeah:

As for the OP's original question, get a deposit down on the R, you can always get it back if you don't like it and still look for a Speciale. :)

  10. Winglets anyone?

  11. Ha Ha brilliant!

It looks more 1980’s CBR all the time!

  12. Does anyone else think the R might not get the twin pulse firing order of the 1103cc versions?.

  13. I said it before and i say it again, all is new on the V4R. Frame,engine,electronics..

  14. I think it's going to be a cracker of an R this time!

  18. Would I be correct in thinking some R projects, as well as homogolation, are a bit of a vanity project. In other words, the manufacturer makes fek all or even takes a hit?

40k Euros may cover the R&D and production of the engine and not much else. So perhaps prospective buyers might have to finish it off themselves with after market upgrades. We'll see.
