One of the mods I like and replicated on my own 2018 V4S, was the anchoring bolt on the upper section of side panel. The bolt (or zeus fastener) that basically replaces the Velcro arrangement. I found the Velcro would often release and that section would spring out a bit from the tank. Wasn’t a good look and irritated me a tad. Anyhow, out came the drill and fasteners. Very happy with it now. *Drilling accuracy is key here
Be interested to see what you did there. Any pics FC? (BTW call me mad but I've seen an offer on the full titanium 4 Uscite system that is very tempting. Still not 100% sold on the looks (the OCD in me is particularly concerned over the central alignment of the rear silencer relative to the tail light) BUT I much prefer the deeper boom it delivers over the Akra. I know you have been an exponent of it for some time, so I fear I may be teetering on the edge of a change...possibly)
Can you spot it? I like the way it hugs in the upper side fairing section. I’ve inserted a piece of cycling inner tube but that’s just for winter storage. I may make something more permanent for track riding and the associated vibration. Termi Uscite does indeed give a cheeky base note. A bit too cheeky without baffles. I can only do Donington (noisy, 108db) with it. I do like the look of the new Termignoni wheelbarrow system. Except for that overpipe section under the tail light. Reminds me of a waste heat recovery system
Couldn't resist a small mod. Realised that placing the Stahlbus bleeders on the inside of the front calipers as per the position of the original bleed nipples is totally unnecessary and they are quite awkward to get to due to their extra length and attaching tubing for bleeding, as I discovered. To that end, I've bought single and double Stahlbus banjo bleeder bolts and will remove the current bleeders and refit the stainless bleed nipples I had on the calipers originally. Bleeding from the outer banjo points will be 10 times easier, plus a lot more clearance than the current setup, when removing calipers if you need to take off the front wheel for any reason.
After what's been a utterly miserable year for me, I decided to cheer myself up and bought something a little fruity as a side-project. These were "extra" and will probably make me deeply unpopular with the neighbours.
i've just sat and read the thread from start to finish . fantastic effort and level of detail , really enjoy it all.
Pretty excited that after almost 5 and a half years, my bike is finally being readied for the road and it's first MOT. This will be the first time since it was delivered from the dealer when I first bought it, that is has seen the actual light of day as a complete bike. The reason for this hiatus in my riding and the delays to the project, have been well documented on this thread. Needless to say it will be in safe hands, once it's delivered to a very reputable dealer tomorrow afternoon, where it is due for a service and to replace the original fluids and a general check over. After that it is heading to another specialist venue for some paint correction and detailing, to eliminate some minute flaws in the new paintwork, ceramic coating and a full PPF film to be fitted. I hope to finally sling my leg over it in mid-April. Can't wait. My patience has been well and truly tested. At last I am going to ride the bloody thing!
Amazing! A brand new bike, worked on for 5.1/2 years, and now needs an MOT before it can turn a wheel. Must be some kind of record, but I'm looking forward, as I'm sure you are, to seeing the final masterpiece. You are obviously very particular about your bike, so what will happen if you and it get caught in the rain or ride over some mud on the road?
Had an hour to kill this morning so mocked up the D200 system on the bike with both silencer options. Angles may be off, as I lifted the system from another image, so it's not really representative of how it would actually look fitted, but for now it just gives me an idea of what to expect. I'm leaning towards the latter option. Still trying to find a way to integrate the rear bracket with the Evotech tail tidy, so I've approached a local engineering company for some guidance. Current Set Up "Standard" Termi silencers (baffles can be removed if required) "Ear Bleeders"
Well the bonus with the silencers is there's only 2 retaining springs holding them on, so I can always swap them over as and when I fancy a change.
Is the carbon shroud really needed ? I Appreciate if you're wearing denim.. But in leathers do they get so hot it needs all that coverage ? Just think they kinda ruin the lines of the bike, and it would be nicer to show the pipework off. I know the AKRO does this too. So maybe it IS essential.
You definitely wouldn't ride it without the heat shield. It's much closer to your leg than the Akra system, which sits a lot lower. I agree that the Termi system is not perhaps as elegant as the Akra system which looks a lot more compact and minimal but I still dislike the assymmetric pipes.
