A bit of porn after a shit day. Wheels refurbed, new bearings and slicks Carbon frame covers Carbon rear hugger New pads New Brembo HPK discs Some new disc and caliper bolts Brushed Ti tank wrap (courtesy of @evoboy ) Still some carbon to arrive and repainted fairings. Bloody love it! Still can’t quite make my mind up on fairing colour...was thinking British Racing Green for something a bit more unusual but open to ideas?!
But of work on the fairings today, rubbed down, filled and then isolating primer so hopefully there won’t be any paint reactions this time round. Still haven’t decided on a colour. Any opinions to go with gold wheels?
Picture 9 of 9 here, https://www.motorcyclenews.com/news/2018/july/world-ducati-week-motogp-riders/, might give you some ideas and Rinaldi’s WSBK Team Go Eleven colour scheme looks different. Andy
Cheers. I’m just going solid colour though not a full design, only track fairings so I’m not too fussy.
I rather liked the blue which should look good, even as a solid colour and would work with your tarty gold wheels Andy
Yeah I have thought about staying silver, but I think I want a colour this time round. I should have put the fairings on in hindsight with the wheels and brushed tank to see it before I rubbed them down.
Few more jobs sorted. Swingarm protector arrived last week so fitted that. Managed to bleed out a big air lock in the cooling system. Harpic (thanks @Advikaz for the tip) and some scotchbrite sorted the exhaust a treat. Ordered some oil for a fresh change too. Still waiting a carbon front fender and exhaust cover and paint the fairings and it’s about ready. Finger crossed tracks are back open end of March.
Getting a bit further on ready for hopefully 22nd March at Donny if things open up again. - oil change - chain and sprocket cleaned up - few extra carbon bits, still waiting front fender - fairings in primer, being painted next weekend I’m really excited about the colour I’ve picked, should be very unique as it has only ever been used one one very special car production wise, should be something a bit different.
I have thought about it but looks like there’s a lot of dismantling to get them off which I’m a bit lazy to do, especially considering I’ve now find an easy way to scrub them up! Yours do look very good though!
Looks loads better definitely worth the extra time.... especially the Moto GP style end caps . You sure that sticker is heatproof?.....
LOL... https://www.ebay.com/itm/2-Stickers-Ducati-Performance-for-Exhaust-Resistant-a-Heat-200-Red/202819173031?ssPageName=STRK:MEBIDX:IT&_trksid=p2060353.m2749.l2649 Hopefully 200 degrees is enough..it's survived a few rides this past fall in 40F temps. August in my area...another story.
