  1. It will be Spain somewhere

  2. I will just have to wait and see how the tickets will be handled. I’m probably going to lose the cost of the flights and the hotel as the Foreign Office isn’t advising tourists not to travel, so about £2k and I don’t have the funds to stump up all over again. Would much have preferred there not to be a natural disaster and subsequent loss of life but it is what it is. Andy

  3. Mate nightmare but like you say nothing like what they’re going through. Good luck with it, you never know it might be over by Sunday breakfast time anyway :)

  4. Depending on local conditions by then maybe get some sun on the hotel balcony?

  5. Qatar is the favourite according to rumours.

  6. There are lots of reason you can cancel and use travel insurance, not just travel advice. Worth checking all the conditions, eg movement or cancellation of event may be covered somehow

  9. On a positive note, a woman has just been rescued from her car trapped in an underpass in Benetússer, Valencia after 3 days!

  11. Obviously terrible what’s happened in Valencia but this will be a much better spectacle. Valencia is a tight, boring arse track that rarely produces decent racing. Catalunya on the other hand…

(200+ people dead, thousands of others injured, homeless, livelihood ruined etc…)

  13. Not sure if that’s aimed at me and maybe I wasn’t clear enough with my opening sentence but obviously my thoughts are with everyone there. I have work colleagues from the region and I’ve donated to the Aspar go fund me if it helps.

The track is still shit though.

  14. I’m down here right now. And my track days impacted, dam it… Pah!…

  15. Barcelona hit with severe flooding this morning (4/11), the airport at El Prat took a pasting with more heavy rain forecast. Just devastating for the people in the region :( Andy

  16. As of today, I’m delighted to be told the NH Collection Hotel group are looking at a direct transfer of our booking in Valencia to an NH hotel in Barcelona and I’m waiting on a reply from EasyJet about transferring our tickets too. If I’ve understood all the EasyJet terms and conditions, it should be possible but cost an extra £90. As Valencia airport is currently open for flights, the city centre is largely untouched by the devastation immediately outside the city and notwithstanding the regional government asking tourists not to visit Valencia, the holiday insurance has declined to offer any assistance or reimbursement at this time, which is what I expected. I’m now just sweating on what disruption Barcelona is suffering from the storms there, this morning. Andy

  17. Try your travel ins again for the flights as they will be cancelled anyway if they can’t fly there surely. It’s because sleazyjet are sheisters and will make it impossible, ins companies have tighter rules. I’d be inclined to let easyJet cancel then buy others

  18. I saw some footage of the airport under water yesterday but it was by no means anywhere near as bad as the images from further south, bearing in mind we still have best part of 10 days for it to drain away, i think you'll be okay.

  19. That was yesterday, today there appears to be few delays and no major issues on the road network surrounding the airport or Barcelona as a whole. Ignore the Daily Mirror and simply check out live traffic conditions on Google Maps and use the airport's own website to see a more accurate representation of current issues there.
